Anyone here know about Comair?

Or anyone know anything about them. I remember hearing that Comair pilots had the "best" contract. Whatever that means. Anyone know if this is true? What do they pay? What are the upgrade times like? They're an all RJ airline right? Just curious, thanks.

Re: Anyone here fly for Comair?

Don't know much about benefits and pay scale, but I have a few friends that fly for them. All of them seem to be very happy. Two of them are captains and I think they upgraded after about a year and a half...pre 9/11 though. I would assume its probably sitting around 3 or 4 now.

You'd probably be based out of CVG. Cincy is a great city with a lot of activities to offer. Cost of living in Northern KY is pretty reasonable as well from what I understand.

Re: Anyone here fly for Comair?

I thought they still flew the Brasildos... Are they all retired already?

Re: Anyone here fly for Comair?

The last ones I knew of were running the MCO-EYW runs. They've been gone for a while now.

Re: Anyone here fly for Comair?

I think the went all-CRJ in 99 or 2000.

Re: Anyone here fly for Comair?

Great pay and work rules, but i understand a VERY long upgrade time in the future.

Re: Anyone here fly for Comair?

Kingairer is correct. There is no growth at Comair... Delta just announced that the 32 CRJs purchased will got to ASA and Skywest, 25 and 7 each respectively. This is all on top of the CRJ-700s that ASA is getting this year. Comair has stopped with 20 CRJ-700s, aparently, pilots are paid less to fly the CRJ-700 at ASA (cause Comair rates are higher).

I know a Comair F/O, and she said that there is no growth, and that she MIGHT upgrade next year... she's already been there 3 years.

Re: Anyone here fly for Comair?

Yes it looks like all the growth will be at ASA for the next few years but this could also be a carrot dangeled because of the contract negotiations going on right now.
