Anyone here attending the ATP centre in Jacksonville?

I completed most of my flight training for my Private license in Fort Lauderdale. I am a non US citizen. I was considering going back to FLL for the Instrument thru ATP, but I was told by an ATP Rep that all International Student training in Florida is completed at the center in Jacksonville, and not at the center in Fort Lauderdale. Is there anyone here on this forum who attended/ is attending the training centre in Jacksonville? How has your program gone so far? What is the overall atmosphere like?

If you are a non citizen legal permanent resident you can go wherever you like. If you are a non citizen and not a legal permanent resident then you have to go to the JAX location due to visa and tsa issues. Pm me about experience at the JAX location if you are interested, I was a past student for private multi and commercia multi. Probably going back but to a different location for m CFII

I attended the Jacksonville location from 10/04-4/05. I know that was quite some time ago but hopefully I can tell you a little about my experience. It was nice being at their main location. They had a dedicated examiner whom did most all your checkrides (Ernest Strange) There are always an ample amount of aircraft available as well as instructors. I found that it was a very good experience and the atmosphere was very good. Ernie can seem a little overwhelming on your checkrides but he is very fair and will not fail you for making little mistakes. If you have any more questions just send me a PM.

haha yes he did make things interesting. I used to stump my students with some of his oral questions. I had my PSEL, PMEL, IA, CSEL, CMEL, and CFI with him and then I took my MEI and CFII with Pinkslip Pinkston down in FLL.
