Anyone else turn down a PEPC for a local interview?

I was selected for PEPC for the entire state.. I also spoke with the ATC manager at the closest airport here in Louisville for a possible local interview. I was told directly, if you have the spot at PEPC use it, otherwise what takes you a day there in Memphis, will take about 6-8 months locally. Maybe it is different in other states, I don't know, just giving some info of what I had happen here. Depends on your situation and what you are shooting for. Hope this helps clarify a little.

just an update on me going the non pepc route. I have now filled out all the background and sent that in along with the finger print cards and other paperwork. Did the drug test this week.. they scheduled my medical for monday july 14th. After that I just have to do the psych test and i am done! Hopefully i dont have to wait too long for the final offer letter. Anyone elso going this route? what is your timeline looking like?

I just started, interview next week. how long was it from your interview to the rest of the process? Did your interviewer have your TOL or did you have to wait to get that from OKC?

What were the interview questions like? Were they the same as the PEPC questions? I have my interview on Monday and I am so nervous. Any info on this would be great!:D

Non PEPC person here.:p I believe the interview questions are the same as the PEPC questions (check out the PEPC interview question sticky). Like many other people have said before, the interview is pretty painless and overall relaxed. Nothing more than a formality really. I suspect you all should do just fine.:)

Just curious on the medical. Is it done by a local FAA medical doctor or do you have to travel somewhere to get it done. Are you doing all your stuff locally. I am curious because I also choose the non pepc route and I still haven't heard when my interview is going to be or anything. I tried calling Av careers division to ask them the same questions but have been unable to reach any of the people that have been sending me the forms or notices about my interview. Just looking for some info.

It is done by an FAA doctor.

It will probably be a while before you get your interview. Mine took a month to get. The HR people email a list of people to interview to facilities on Fridays. Then it's up to that facility as to when you will actually get the interview.

Just so you all know I'm a febot and i chose for a local interview..

My interview is this Friday the 18th at CMH ! I haven't seen anyone get selected for an Ohio terminal, so maybe that sped up the process? lol but so far it's definitely faster than waiting for the Chicago PEPC in August !

Good Luck to you all! :o

Jeezus. I graduated CTI in Dec 07, I recieved my Employment Invitation over 6 weeks ago. Went non-PEPC because I thought it wouldn't take as long as waiting for the Memphis PEPC, plus the price of gas to get there. I also had a roomate who was hired non-PEPC VERY quickly after his ATSAT.

So anyway, got the fax stuff, sent it all back, and waited, and waited, and waited. After a month went by I started calling Aviation Careers to see what was up. Every week I call, every week they connect me to someone else, and every time its an answering machine. I've left my info 3 times now and never recieved a call back. I also e-mailed aviation careers and never got a reply. What the hell is going on?

Definitely keep on those Aviation Careers people! They are so busy with other applicants as well but you want to make sure they don't forget about you! I've heard horror stories of paperwork getting misplaced or contact information being lost. So, I would try to email/call your HR contact every once in a while to see what your status is (but try not to overdo it).:p Your HR contact should be the person who sent you your TOL.

TOL? Whats that? Tenetive offer?

I got my employment invitation from a Kameron Upshaw in NAS Workforce Management, should I just contact him directly?

Maybe try contacting that Kameron person and he/she can give you more info on WHO is in charge of your hiring file. I don't know how it works for CTI people but perhaps someone familiar on this forum can chime in with the differences.
A TOL is your tentative offer letter. After you complete your paperwork and pass your security, medical, psych, and interview you should receive a FOL............final(firm) offer letter.

Alright, well they keep forwarding me to this Vicky person and now I have her direct number so I'll try getting her when she's actually in the office.

FYI, the TOL, at least for CTI, doesn't come till after the interview.

EDIT: Sonuva... as soon as I hit POST my phone rings with the manager at SBN ATCT, got my interview. Thanks for the advice anyway guys.

I just finished my interview at SEA ATCT. Went really well I thought. Toured the tour and got to listen in on local control. Everyone was really nice. Hope I get offered that facility!

As far as the interview went, he had a list of questions he was supposed to ask, almost exactly the same as the list posted in the sticky. He told me it was to standardize the interviews across the board so everyone gets the same interview.

So now I wait for the TOL.

Glad the interview went so well! They were really friendly at mine too. I just had my medical yesterday and the dr was really nice there as well. He said I passed everything, and even talked to me about my location and places to visit in oklahoma. My psych test is on monday the 21st. I will be mailing out my finger print cards and background paperwork tomorrow. So back to waiting! From what i am seeing on the boards it looks like i will have a late aug, or sometime in sept class date.

Someone asked about my timeline.. its in my signature.

Well, had my interview. I think it went pretty well. There were a lot more questions than were posted on here, but the questions that are on here were asked. Now I just have to wait to get a TOL. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Has anyone been turned down and not offered a TOL after their interviews?
