Anyone else turn down a PEPC for a local interview?

Haha, trying to hang in there. Coming up on one year since I graduated from school though, I REALLY want to get out there and get started. Plus I passed up the Nov 25th class date and have done nothing but regret it. Here's hoping for December.

Yeah, cause they don't have to take the basics class. From what HR told me, that is the class they're having problems getting seats for.

One of my sim instructors was contracted by the FAA years ago to evaluate how they could improve the academy, save money, streamline it. He recommended that they convert probably 80% of it to CBT's. They (the OKC folks) didn't like that idea, you know, job security and all.

lol no thanks. my friend that is nearly checked out said you can tell them some crap like you just got a lease for an apartment in SF and hopefully they can change you.

You're moving pretty fast, lucky. I was interviewing while you were getting your ATSAT scores. Still no academy date.

I got a call yesterday that they had two spots for the december 15th class. I couldnt make it, but if you can maybe you could give brenda a call and ask to be put in the class if its still open. good luck!
 
I received my TOL yesterday and will probably complete my MMPI and physical next week if I can get them scheduled both on the same day or at least one of the two on a weekend. For everyone's information, they are now putting a pretty tight timeline on getting your physical, drug test and psych eval done, roughly 10-15 days from the time you receive the TOL.

So assuming everything goes to plan, it will have been about two months from my selection e-mail to completion of the stuff that is normally taken care of at a PEPC. It looks like they've streamlined this process considerably, and have eliminated the months of waiting for someone to contact you about scheduling your next evaluation, etc..

Depending on when ZME has some slots allocated for OKC, I'd guess I'm probably looking at a March-May Academy date...but that is nothing but speculation.
 
This is very strange, i still haven't gotten my TOL, and i've already had my interview and mmpi. i contacted my HR rep but he still hasn't emailed me back...
 
You don't get the TOL until after the interview, but how you even managed to schedule the MMPI is a mystery.

Speaking of the MMPI fellas, where have you folks gone to take it? Is it something they can do on weekends?
 
the guy that interviewed me called SFO to schedule the mmpi...i really think i should have gone PEPC :banghead:

A few $100s is worth speeding up the government hiring process. Always remember the K.I.S.S principle. Think of a trip to the PEPC as an investment in your future.
 
Paperwork/tests finished

Tomorrow I go for my MMPI-2 exam. Looks like I'm about on the same schedule with the Nov. PEPC crew (earliest one for Pubnat2). I got calls today from people receiving my background check papers in the mail as well. After this it's a wait for my FOL & a class date. I posted a few posts back with my full timeline if you're curious.

I think thats the Basics class. There's a tower cab class that starts then but I wasn't called for it. Next opportunity starts the 23rd. Keeping my fingers crossed.

On a related matter, although they put me on the list of people for fill in spots, they did so without my medical clearance, which is stuck in Chicago. I shot an e-mail to OKC asking if they'd gotten yet and the reply was, "nope". I called Chicago again today and actually got some help, seems my MMPI2 test is missing, despite that I had taken it in the beginning of October. Evidently I wasn't the only ATC applicant with this issue there so they're now looking into where it was. Oddly though they had me fax my TOL to them.

Anyway, if you're medical goes through Chicago AME and you haven't gotten a class date yet, your MMPI2 may be missin'.
 
Chicago called back today. Apparently somewhere between South Bend ATCT (where I took my MMPI2) and Washington, my MMPI2 magically vanished into thin air. So now I get the joy of taking the test over at some point probably after Christmas and the knowledge that the last 2 months have been practically wasted.
 
It seems like most of you are moving along pretty quick, well, compared to me. I had my interview on July and i STILL havent received my TOL. I called my hr poc and when she started giving me all my contact info, it was all wrong...addres, phone numbers, all wrong :banghead: she told me she needed to speak with a "specialist" about why did this happened and that she would call right back, after a week i just went ahead and called and she says, "oh i could've sworn i called you", so anyways, after all that was fixed she told me my TOL was on someone else's desk ready to be mailed, that was almost 2 months ago... i should've just gone to the PEPC, too late now:panic: So if you havent received your TOL yet and you havent spoken to anyone, please do, or you might never get it :(
