Anyone else turn down a PEPC for a local interview?

Anyone know how long it is currently taking to hear back on the MMPI2 and the background check? I finished all of my stuff in August and am just wondering if I can get an idea of how long I should expect.

Did you call your HR rep? They're not going to call you to update you... you have to call them.

i finally heard that i passed the background check.. they called me to see if i could possibly make it to the november 7th class ( i guess they had a sudden opening) but its only 2 weeks away and there was just no way i could get there in time. I have someone that rents the basement of my house and have to get him out and the house packed up and hopefully sold before i go. They said I have to wait for the next class date then, but would not tell me when that would be. Grrrrrr. So back to the waiting game for me. I am kind of anoyed they wont just give me an official date in the spring so i can know the timeline i am working with.

Time for an update on the non-pepc route. Did the MMPI on wednesday and have the medical on thursday of next week. Then we wait for the green light to OKC. They just now realized that they needed my college transcript(i helped them out a bit by calling them and asking if they needed anything else from me). Glad to hear that some of you are getting class dates now.

Looks like our time lines are kind of close. I posted my experience [thread=75321]here[/thread].

I'm right up there with you too in regards to when all my paperwork was finished. But it looks like your background check will go faster than mine. Anyone know how long it normally takes? I've already seen the surveys go out to the contacts and they were sent back immediately from everyone. I'm expecting to probably be called about a trip I took overseas last year but nothing yet.

Japan for a month. My buddy who got hired about a year ago got called for a trip he took to the Caribbean, so I figured they'd call me as well.

Where did you go? I have left the continent three times this year and it didnt appear to be a problem.

:yeahthat:I've been to 25+ countries within the last 8 years and it didn't affect me getting my security clearance. Just make sure to list the country and the reason why you were there and then you should be fine.

god i'm still waiting for an interview. i told them i couldn't afford pepc in KC, so they told me i would get interviewed at the airport near my house. that was on October 16. I emailed a few people last week and asked when i would get a date. this was his response:

It can take the hiring managers anywhere from 1 week to a couple of months depending on the number of applicants they must interview. You were sent forward. Just keep an eye on your email and answer your phones.

Thank you !

:banghead:

So I just had my local interview today after turning down the KC and LA PEPCs. According to my interviewer he is just the interview hub of the NYC area because it was conducted at a small airport and he had been conducting interviews all week. The interview lasted about 2 hours which included a tour of the tower which was cool (except for the flies, is that normal in every tower?). Looking forward to the next step. Oh, something for everyone, bring some referrals with you. Their names, addresses and phone numbers. If something had said to bring that material I must have missed it.

I didn't bring referrals and no one asked for them. I don't know why he did.

Referrels? Weird. Dunno about the flies either, South Bend didn't have them.

My interview was maybe, maybe 10 minutes at the most. I think he asked me 2 actual questions and just lectured me on the FAA for the rest of it. I spent the next 50 minutes touring the tower, I couldn't believe my interview was so easy. Only thing I could figure was being a CTI from ERAU carried a lot of weight.

He gave me his email address and asked if I could email him contact info for people who could give me a good recommendation. I hadn't read anything like that on here before and no where in my email from HR had they mentioned it. Maybe it is just something this guy likes to do. Who knows...

I have my interview soon locally, not even close to where I'm headed. BUT I need to bring referrals??? Did anyone else get asked for one, or just WICKED? I swear, I filled otu a million referrals for them already. Not sure what to expect from this interview.
