Anyone changed a landing gear box on a Cessna single?

Fortunately it's the Cessna single that's not on the 135 cert, so no big hurry. Plane is up on jacks and in a million pieces right now though, and we can't get the old part out and the new one in without more disassembly. Fishing for answers on just how much more disassembly we need to do.

Actually, believe it or not, I have, but it was several years back now...and I'm not an A&P it was just "under the supervision."

Did you have to pull a bulkhead to get the darn thing out and in? The old one is all drilled out but there isn't enough room between the 2 bulkheads that the gearbox is huckbolted to to actually remove the old box and slide the new one in. Looks like we might have to unrivet the forward one part way to get enough flex in it to swap the parts. Any way it goes, it looks like it's going to suck.

I remember that it was a very very very tight fit regardless, and it took me and two trained mechanics several days to get it rigged right, and if you don't get it just perfect...well, that seems undesirable.
