Anybody awake down there.....???

I was just down at FSA for a quick visit last Friday (see rausda27's post regarding our trip from Long Island in his buddy's airplane). Anyway, from walking around just a bit and seeing old and new faces, it looks like the school is starting to really bloom again- alot of students running around, planes up and flying, lots of new hire info on the walls, all briefing rooms redone with wood paneling and new computers, etc etc etc. Looking forward to going back to instruct in April (assuming stan class goes ok). Lets all hope the economy continues to improve.

Hey higbie...gimme a ring when you come back down.

Same number.

Chunk

PS--New computers in the briefing room? wow.

I'm still here, just been kinda busy with my instrument training, I'm planning new post real soon...hang tight

Is there another class standz for April??? Or are you in the same class with rausda? What number were you guys when you initially got hired?

Anybody know how many alternates they took for the March 29th class?

There is a stan class on April 19. I will be there as well. I was number seventy something when I was hired in June, 2003. At this rate, the wait list could soon be a thing of the past. Out of the four flight instructors I had at Flight Safety, two of them now fly for the airlines, and one just landed a good corporate job flying a new Beechjet. Things are lookin' up in aviation.

cime_sp, I have a feeling we'll be getting back there just in time for summer to take full effect... ugh. That's a lot better than what I thought it was going to be though!

Seeya,
Dave

Right now everyone is swamped. I personally have 7 students and the stand department is planning to bring in a bunch of new instructors soon. (My slot should be open in a few months) One thing is stay current, IPs who haven't been doing much flying seem to be having a high attrition rate in stand. Also be sure to have your CFII done!! I quess they called several people back for the next class and are just finding out now that they never bothered to get their CFII......

I was told there were originally 6 with 4 alternates. That turned into 10 primary and ?? alternates.

I remember my instructor talking about coming in from one flight, debriefing, and running to catch the next flight. I never saw it happen when I was there, but with guys having 7 students, it seems to be happening again.

I'll see you guys on Apr 19.

I am in the March 29 class and am on the way down to Vero as I type this thanks to free internet wireless at my hotel in SC. I was originally 67 when I interviewed in January and I was given a standby spot that turned into a primary spot in the class. It seems like things have certainly turned around down there and I am optimistic that it will continue..

I was number 96 when I interviewed....depending on how many people deffered I should be in the 20's to low 30's by now! Great...

Hey guys,

I was oringinally going to be in the March 29 stan. class but opted for April 19. see you guys in a few weeks. By the way, my old fsi instructor is also flying for the regionals... things are looking good.
