Any opinions on which flight case to get?

I've spent the last eight years flying without a flight bag, but with my new job I have a ton of stuff to lug around.

Anybody have any suggestions on which flight case to get?

Likes/Dislikes of certain ones?
 
Coyote reinforced the lid of their bags, the handle, and the way the handle is attached to the bag in order to prevent them from pulling out.

They work at XJT, so we got the run down on how the put these things together during initial.

Water bottle also fits well between the strap on the j-hook and your rollaboard. So you shove it in right above the j-hook, and with the kit attached, it holds it there.
 
Go to Office Max and get one with a retractable tow handle and wheels For $80-$90. Works good and lasts a long time.

L L Bean backpack. They will even put your initials on it.
 
I like Scott Leather.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I'd have to "re-bag" myself every 18 months with the Office Max catalog cases, killed my leather/ballistic PNT case in a year, bought a Scott Leather bag and 11 years later, it's still going strong.

Handles dried spilled grande Pikes Roast pretty well and a couple of run-ins with Legal Seafood clam chowder.
 
I have a hybrid flight case. It's the Scott case with the saddle handles and the Coyote Works/Hunt pocket and skid plates. This thing is indestructible. :)
 
I also have a Coyote Works bag. The thing is a beast. People see the skid plates and go "Whoa, what?" :D It's been thrown around and tossed and scraped into plenty of overheads; not even a scratch on it.

Advise against this. I did this and the bottom came apart on the ATL ramp during a blowing rainstorm. Pubs all over the place. You don't need to get a $1000 bag, but I advise against the cheapest.
A few things I learned:
1. Don't get high end shoes, but don't get the cheapest. I found that well made shoes are much cheaper/wear than cheaply made shoes. Makes a big difference when you are pre-flighting in the snow as an FO.
2. Same with bags.
 
I have the luggage works vinyl one, was like 88 bucks. It's holding up ok so far.
 
I use a ballistic nylon one from PT... It won't last as long as a Scotts' and I'll have to replace it every 3 years or so, but I don't dig the leather bags..

Oh, you can't plaster it with stickers.. Uber-downside..
 
I have the Coyote Works one (now Hunt) - 3+ years and it still looks new after getting dragged all over the Northeast and Midwest during the winters. My only regret is that I didn't get the outside pockets... I'd make sure to add those on. The metal skid plate is amazing... and a must have. (although when running through a terminal you have to be careful not to scrape anyone)
