Any online classes for working towards becoming an A&P?

Part 147 is the Part 141 equivalent for A&P schools.

147.21(b)(3): Combined airframe and powerplant—1,900 hours (400 general plus 750 airframe and 750 powerplant).

Thanks for the link. Since I did mine through the calendar months method, I'm unfamiliar with the 147 requirements. Doing OJT requires 18 months each A & P or 30 months if working on both A & P simultaneously.

Depending on the DME and FSDO. An A/P cert shouldn't be taken lightly, 30 months at 40 hrs a week equals 4800 hrs. It took me 65 hrs to get my PPL.

Looked into doing this last year when I was AOG due to a surgery.

Difficult, if not completely impossible, to do your A&P unless you have more than 18 months off, let alone while working a regular airline job. The 147 schools I contacted want NOTHING to do with "non-traditional" students. Nor were they willing to work on any kind of credit for previous experience.

Really, the only option is to apprentice at a shop that's willing to have you. It's a LONG road, but the only one available to people working an airline gig. Some guys get lucky, and have a hangar mate or local shop they can work with.
