Any new information on duty time rules or min 121 hours?

I have a feeling that either by September 3rd something might be released concerning the duty rules. If not by that date September 15th more information might be out there by that time.

Still heading towards the european rules?

Is my source to be Mr Seggy? :) Ok fine I can accept that as a valid source!

Just got out of recurrent a couple day's ago. Our PDT safety/training folks seem to think that if and when there are any new duty requirements, it'll be something like shorter duty days, but with less days off during the month. So take it for what its worth, being that the info came from the management side of things.

If they do adopt the European work rules a 'day off' is something like 32 or 34 hours, you can't have less than two in a row and there are some other things that make it more restrictive.

I'd find it ironic if a change in regs forced a change in the contract! When the rules changed on jumpseat privileges for furloughees the company shrugged their shoulders and said "sorry, the Feds have spoken".

You got a hint as well with the September 3rd date if you would read certain things and not go out and play in Hawaii :)

Working at Colgan has driven me to need a vacation. and a welcome back by a passenger demanding to know why the flight to newark was delayed where her bf who works INSIDE in customs says the weather is fine, was just what I needed to remember why I needed it. Apparently my explanation wasn't good enough so I walked off cursing her under my breathe and ate dinner.

But now that it's back to work I do have a lot of reading to catch up on!!!

Any updates? Wasn't Babbitt supposed to have the recommendations on his desk today so he could start working on the rules?

The ARC sent its recommendations to Babbitt yesterday. I got them today, and I like what I see for the most part. It will probably be a bit before you see them in an official NPRM, though.

That doesn't make sense. Monthly days off isn't currently a regulated requirement. The only requirement is 24 hours of consecutive rest within the previous 7 days, I believe.

Well, if youre flying 85 hours a month right now, they're still going to want you to fly 85 hours even if the duty day is not scheduled more than 12 hours, that means that if you had 15 days off now you're probably going to be closer to 12 days off. Course it all depends on the pairings obviously.
