My wife thinks she is getting a Disney Crusie for her 30th (next year)
Kell seems a strong union guy, but critical of the unions at Disney.
Seggy is a strong union guy, and does seem incapable of being critical of unions. ATN is the same.
It would be interesting to discuss industry and job's where the union "works" and lends itself to, and perhaps where unions don't work. For me, airline pilots absolutely need a union for myriad reasons. Disney...my business? No, I would say there is no union needed. It would be an interesting debate/cage-fight though.
ATN can be very critical, just mention the Teamsters and how they stiffed the AFL-CIO. Also, I imagine there is a lot he would talk about over a beer that he wouldn't post on this forum for everyone to see. I seem to recall him not being on Team Moak during the last election, for example. There is a difference between a desire not to air dirty laundry while you're holding national elected office at a union and being incapable of being critical of them. JMHO, YMMV.Kell seems a strong union guy, but critical of the unions at Disney.

Now that is unfair. I am extremely capable of being critical of unions and the politics that go behind them.
I wish we had a (to borrow from you) 'utopia' world where trade unions were not needed, however that is not that case.
I can vouche for mr Seggy. He has been critical of unions to me many times.I wasn't being unfair so much - I just never have heard a critical word from you or ATN about unions. As I said in my post - I think there are some industries that require unions - flying being one of them. I'm not so sure that there are industries that are better non-unionized though - such as teachers.

Teachers as well as every other group you feel doesn't need a union has one for a reason. It is a form of checks and balances. When you have mangers who take advantage of hard working people that process is gone, this is why we have unions.
Read a rumor online another forum that a new VP of HR (or some people department) came in and has flushed the pilot pool, not liking how the ol guys did it (previous administration).
True? False?
You hear anything kellwolf?

No matter what happens, I will still be on reserve on the west coast till I am old and grey. (And continuing to be very jealous of Cherokee_Cruiser with his sweet line and his 16+ days off a month.)

Hey everyone, anyone know what the requirements are when it comes to a degree? Is it really necessary??
No degree required. Like most, it's "preferred." Which in this market means you either need to know someone with some pull or have the degree.
I was #43 in the pool, but now we're hearing the order has changed. Not sure how or why, though.
