I actually had a long conversation with a Jet USA Falcon capt. and FO in the break room at the airport FBO the other day. They fly the Falcons and DC-9's into Arlington a lot. The captain has been working there for 2 years and upgraded after 1 year. He says that the short upgrade was luck because a bunch of more senior pilots had already bid for FO on the DC-9 and were seat locked. He says that the work has been better this year compared to last year. He did describe the waiting around for 7 days while Jet USA is looking for a client, with 30-40 minutes to get to the airport last year, playing PSP in the hotel room. He did not say anything about not getting paid if you were late, but that if you do your job that corporate won't bother you. Apparently that doesn't happen much anymore to him this year.
The Falcon pilots are usually responsible for loading and unloading the cargo. What he doesn't like about the Falcon is the dirty engine covers that they have to put on.
Currently it is a 55 hour guarantee and he would like to go on to the DC-9 because then he would be bringing in about $45k a year. He said that most pilots of the DC-9 go way over the minimum so get paid more.
Hope this info is helpful. I doubt I will be applying there myself.
