To be honest most companies will not sponsor you on acquiring a work visa, so You will have to foot the bill 100% and it is very expensive. Their is a lottery system that awards so many a year at random as well.
On the flip side, I currently work for Honeywell Aerospace and we have offices all over the world including Hyderabad India. Through that office and our office in the US, We provide flight planning services to a wide range of customers. A large majority of our associates come from the Indian Air Force but we do have some from the civilian world as well. Holding an FAA DIspatcher License is a big plus. I'll PM you more details asI can't say very much on a public forum as the company is very tight about its customer makeup and the details of what we offer

Yesterday I applied for IFOD school, I'm from Belgium and after weeks of searching on Internet i concluded that the best place to get an FAA licence is in America.But I still have some questions, Does a FAA licence is enough to start working as a FD or do we need to get some extra experiences? because a lot of students that get into flight dispatcher school have previous experiences in aviation like ATC ... I just want to be sure that with a licence I can start from somewhere and don't find myself with a useless licence . My second question is about schools , I was hesitating between Sheffield school and IFOD, can someone tell me if there is a major difference between the two schools???

As long as the school is on the list of official schools, you get the same license (despite what some schools want you to think)

Once you have the license, that's all you need. There is nothing further. I got into this with my only aviation experience being that I went on a couple vacations as a kid that involved traveling by airplane. And sometimes planes flew over my house.

Also, it's not a license, it's a Dispatcher Certificate.

Are you planning on getting a job in Belgium? I would venture to say that most people on this forum don't know what Belgian companies are looking for. In America, having a certificate is a requirement to being a Part 121 Dispatcher.

Is that what you meant?

Check out flamingo air academy in the Cincinnati area. They have an online program that only requires 1 week of actual classroom time. Most of their students are international students.

Even most job postings say a "license" is required. I'm glad I applied to my current job anyway despite only having a certificate.

Guys, even if he gets a FAA certificate. What makes him eligible to work in his home country is ? Any guesses.

Well, there certainly not any guesses here. You just need to be genuine and to the point.

He will be required to have a certificate from his home country to be able to work in Belgium.
