Any e-mails associated with this week's panel

Okay, so this was the week supposedly a couple of panels met for selecting of 07 applicants. I haven't received an e-mail on further selection. Has anyone else?

I guess HR is expecting applicants selected to attend the LA PEPC in June. I would sure like to get into the Chicago one. It's a lot closer and less expensive than jetting to LA.

Hope someone has some good news today. Good luck to us all.;)
 
When I took the AT-SAT in Chicago last month, the FAA rep I talked to mentioned that they were trying to set up a PEPC in Chicago and that applicants would be informed of this weeks panel decisions a week or two after the OKC meeting.

Yes, there is a PEPC in Chicago 19-23 May. Those of us on referral lists since 31 Mar are hoping to receive e-mails for further consideration (the approval to attend the PEPC) from the panel that met this week.

19-23 May is a little more than a week away. If we receive confirmation e-mails today on selection this provides very little time for the HR folks to get their act together for us to attend the Chicago PEPC. It means another delay of a month because we'll have to wait to attend the LA PEPC in June. :panic:
 
I haven't heard anything yet, but from what I can remember the panels will be wrapping up today (May 9th) so as someone already stated it will probably be another week before the good news is spread. I wish they would just get to the Feb applications. Yet another "situation" I have run into with the FAA is that they are using the contact info generated for the particular application they are looking at instead of looking at my user profile on ASAP. I still get any snail mail from the FAA sent to my IND address which then takes another week to get forwarded to me in ATL. Plus, since they still think I live in IND I'm sure the IN panel is going to try to snatch me up over the other three states (assuming any of the states want me at all :buck:). I hope the IN panel and GA panel accidentally run into each other in the hall and all the applications go flying and somehow the GA panel ends up getting a copy of mine. That would be perfect.

HA HA, LMAO!!!

Yeah, when I got the geographic preference email, the website asked me to verify my address and so fourth, but it showed what is on my February application and not what's currently on ASAP. It then says that if there is a discrepancy to log into ASAP and correct it. BUT THERE IS NOTHING TO CORRECT, ASAP has my current info!

This stuff cracks me up... I'll actually be leaving my cushy airline IT job to go work for the FAA as a controller, maybe I should see if they need an IT person instead!
 
South Carolina was supposed to meet the last week of April. As of now I still haven't heard anything. Has anyone who applied to SC in 2007 been selected? I sure hope I make it, just like many others I really want to get out of my current job and move on.

I am on the South Carolina referral list as well as others that came out in 07. I haven't heard from any of them. I thought for sure I would get an e-mail on Friday from OKC but nothing. Now I see where ASAP will be down starting Tuesday for a few days. Another week of frustration and disgust. My negativism is getting the better of me. :(
 
I've been told by the Aviation Careers Division in one of the few hundred calls that I've made since June, 2007 that contact with approved applicants is usually made 2-4 weeks after the hiring panel has met.

Two to four weeks??????? Geez, what in the world could possibly take this long? The panel met and now they have their referral candidates. If what you were told is fact, we 07 applicants have a few more months till we're off to OKC. There is no way we will get invited to the LA PEPC! This whole hiring process needs to be revamped, and SOON!
 
Yeah, I wish they would have revamped it last year instead of probably doing it next year, but thats just the way the world works.

They also told me that contact would be made with approved applicants by phone, email or USPS rather than ASAP. So nobody have an aneurysm because the system is down until Friday.
 
I FINALLY received an e-mail this afternoon. I've been given a choice of four locations: Burlington, Vermont, St. Louis, MO, Mesa, Arizona, and Billings, Montana. None of these are at the top of my list for locations but hopefully I'll be able to change at some point in the process. All facilities are 7s except St Louis which I believe is a 10 or 11. Any suggestions are appreciated :rawk:

Geez man. I can't believe you get to choose between FOUR locations. Used to be they gave you one and you either took it or went back into the blender.

Take one of the four. I'd probably take Mesa.

I agree AZ is nice if you stand the heat.....literally. I haven't validated it but I've heard its easiest to transfer w/in the same region, if that's a future concern of yours. Did you apply for all those states back in '07 or were these new invites?

I applied for every opening starting in July (could have been June) of 07. I guess my e-mail sounded ungrateful but I am very glad to have had a choice. After much soul searching I chose St. Louis (I know, I know, crime, etc.) because of numerous reasons. Financially mainly. I hope I can get in the Chicago PEPC but it is doubtful.

Hang in there. Your turn will come.
 
Badbudda, didn't you tell me you wanted to come to CHS in SC? Well, I hope they continue to select people today. I'm really getting anxious. What do they say in their e-mail when you get selected? It doesn't sound like they assign you a PEPC right away.

Badbudda,

Could you also include a timeline of when you applied, took the AT-SAT, etc.? Just wondering if there is a chance I may get contacted, as I appled for all positions as of May/07 but didn't take the test until last month. Thanks and congrats!
 
Well, congrats BadBudda. I'm sure there are nice areas in St. Louis that you will have no problem finding a place to live in, just like any other city.
 
I got my email yesterday and had to make my choice as well. After careful consideration and everything I went with St. Louis as well. I will tell you I called OKC yesterday and asked to be put into the PEPC for next week in Chicago and I am on for Thursday next week. I would call and ask, it worked for me. I guess we will be hitting St Louis together.
 
Well I'm jealous of y'all...I hope I get selected, but I'm concerned I might not since I only applied for one state. I don't know what I was thinking back in Aug 2007...I should have applied for a lot more.
