Any DPE's on the site?

The restriction is on your type rating, not your ATP/Commercial Certificate Ratings. A Duchess is not a Dash.

He will not complete a circle conifer during his atp ride, so the atp will bear the restriction. He can then go perform a circle in an aircraft of appropriate category to get it removed, hence the duchass

Something in the deep recesses of my memory makes me want to say that you can't do a legal circling aproach in a sim. Could be wrong about that. Also pretty sure that to get the restriction removed, you have to demonstrate it in the actual airplane in the same type as the restriction is for- not just any airplane

Circles are legal in the sim. We do them all the time in Level-C/D sims. I do believe that the particular approach and runway used for the circle have to be FAA approved. Not sure though.

Depends on the sim.
 
You're already current in the Dash, the sim can be used for it, see if you can cut a deal with FS to get a decent hourly rate and rent two hours in it. One hour with their instructor and one with a DPE.
 
IMO it's a waste of cash. If you need the cirling restriction removed most carriers will take care of that during your initial training.

I can cirle in the B737 and SF-340 but can't in the B727 and E170

Btw, I have no idea what a circling conifer is... I believe that's what my phone decided I was trying to say.

But really, just ask you apd before the ride if you can circle to remove the atp restriction with any free time remaining. All the ones I know will do it if you have 5-10 min remaining....

I guess I'd issue a word of caution, if you add it to te ride and bust it... well.. u bust the atp ride. Honestly I wouldn't make a big deal about te restriction, and save myself from and additional test area.

Hugz thats a good idea man but at 400 an hour I don't want to drop it. I think I do a circle approach under the hood with a DPE at home and get it off the ATP, The type restriction doesn't bother me! I appreciate the help guys.
