Any current CCBC students?

Anyone currently going to Beaver County? I scheduled a tour for this coming Tuesday. The lady I talked to on the phone told me I would need to come early if I wanted to to see the ATC stuff, I'm guessing I would have to walk around by myself for this portion? Anybody have any tips or suggestion on getting in contact with any certain professors to talk with? Just don't want to drive 2 hours for nothing.

Thanks

I am a former CCBC student. When you're at the airport, more than likely you will meet with Jim Scott, he is the ATC coordinator for the school. Someone will also give you a tour of the building. Afterward, if you are interested, they will tell you how to get the the control tower so you can see that. No one will take you there, you will be on your own, but all of the supervisors and controllers are really friendly and will show you the tower, and hopefully you can be up there when it is busy, to see it in action, although it nevers seemed to fail when I was there, that if someone came for a tour, we were dead for one reason or another (weather, time of day). Have fun, and don't worry, someone will show you around the building and you should meet some people, but the key person to meet is Jim Scott.

Not to mention, Jim is one of the cooler people at that school. Most everyone likes him a lot. Really helpful. Also, if your heart is set on going enroute, might want to look up a guy named Glen Eaton. Also really helpful.

lol yeah. I have no end of praise for Jim and Glen... but... well... I'll just say that I really liked Jim and Glen, and leave it at that.

Ursula is clueless....too many times in her class we proved her wrong with the FAR/AIM and she still insisted her wrong answers were right.

yes CCBC is held as THE CTI school, I would advise against going there as you are being taught by previous students, not by ex FAA supervisors who did training. So you are learning whatever the person who graduated was taught with ZERO life experience in a tower/enroute. enroute class is led by a PIT guy, BUT you still have other ex students trying to teach you. It's terrible and CCBC really needs to hire ex trainers who are retired.

CCBC worked out for two of my friends. One is now in the tower at port of columbus and the other is working enroute at cleveland center.
