Anxiety and ADD

Yeah my bad, I read it a few hours later and it did seem harsh without helping at all.

But in all seriousness, I had similar type questions once upon a time so I called my local AME and he was nice enough to talk to me on the phone for a good 10 minutes or so answering all of my questions about DQ'ing medications. Try doing that and you'll come away with some good answers.

better words cannot be spoken...If the OP wants it bad enough he will do whatever it takes. Jsut do it before you spend any money.

Yeah, seriously? We want someone who needs anti-depressants to make it through life flying a hurtling piece of aluminum through the sky thinking about ending it all. And to top it off, give him amphetamines for his inability to concentrate!

I'm not being mean here, but really, the logic in your reply is nonexistent.

:beer::bandit::crazy::hiya:

I definitely see your point there, but for one, LEXAPRO IS NOT AN ANTI-DEPRESSANT. It is for anxiety. I just get a little nervous and some stomach pain. I have been looking forward to my PPL for a couple years now, and to be told because I take a medicine for a condition that runs in my family is just unacceptable to me.

Now if I was an employer, and I had someone who was suicidal, I wouldn't want them flying. But I'm not suicidal.

EDIT: And I do not believe I have ADD. I do well in school, I just tend to daydream a little bit in honors bio :dunno:

Lexapro is an SSRI antidepressant that treats both depression and anxiety. Even if it were just an anxiolytic, it would still be grounding, as all psychotropic meds are DQ.

I'm pretty sure that the good doctor has had his say on this thread. If you guys would like to continue the side discussion feel free to open another thread in General Topics.

Thanks!
