ANR Headsets : Sigtronics vs David Clark

The time has come for me to go "ANR".
Traditionally, I have been a David Clark fan, but their ANR range seems a little too pricey for my wallet. Plus I don't like the fact that the microphone boom on their base ANR model isn't fully flexible.(They call it "articulated")

So, I am considering the Sigtronics S-AR ANR Headset instead, which sells for $449 at Sporty's. It looks more reasonably priced than the DCs and has the all-important fully flexible microphone, and gel ear-seals.

If anyone has used this headset or has compared the Sigtronics with the DC ANR headsets, then I would be interested to read your views.

I have tried it on at a trade show once and it was super comfortable. It has similar deep cut gel ear seals as the DC. If i didnt have my Peltor ANR i would be getting this one.
 
I have a pair of David Clarks with ANR and they great. By far much better than the Lightspeeds I have. Not sure what you mean on articulated, but I haven't had trouble with the boom.

You cant go wrong with the DC's because of the great warranty, awesome customer service and they'll take a beating day in and day out if you want to become a CFI.
 
Can't help you directly with a comparison, but you may also want to consider getting the Headsets, Inc ANR kit. If you already have a pair of DCs that you like, you're only spending $200 vs 450 for a new headset. It took me about 2 hours to install the kit myself in my DC 13.4s.
 
I have the ANR upgrade kit in my DC 13.4's it works great but tends to eat 9V's. Buy some good rechargable batts and pay the extra cash to get the single cord. Took me about 2 hours to install too.
 
Well, I bit the bullet and ordered a David Clark H10-13X ENC headset from Marv Golden.

I've been very happy with my set of passive H10-13s so I decided to stick with what I know and like. The passive set will be a nice headset for a passenger.
 
Well, I got my David Clark H10-13X ENC headset and put them to the test last weekend. I was pretty impressed. They were quiet, but I have to admit not as quiet as I thought they were going to be. They are comfortable though.

So that's my "expensive toy" for this year. Next year - a better handheld GPS.
