To qualify as a NetJets Aviation (Citation, Hawker, Falcon, Gulfstream 200, Boeing aircraft) pilot candidate you must have the following prerequisites:
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Multi-Engine Land)
  • Current FAA First Class Medical certificate
  • 2500 hours total pilot time
  • 500 hours fixed wing multi-engine time
  • 250 hours instrument time (actual or simulated in flight - excludes simulator time)
NetJets International (Gulfstream large cabin aircraft) Pilot Requirements:
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Multi-Engine Land)
  • Current FAA First Class Medical certificate
  • 5000 hours total pilot time
  • 500 Gulfstream hours (preferred)
  • Gulfstream type rating (preferred)
  • Crewmembers must live in the Continental US and within 1 hour of an airport with scheduled airline service
NetJets Aviation currently hires pilots for the following domiciles:
  • Columbus, OH (CMH)
  • Teterboro, NJ (TEB)
  • Dallas, TX (DAL)
  • West Palm Beach, FL (PBI)
  • Los Angeles, CA (LAX)
I could totally dig being based at DAL. Hmmm... I meet the mins too. ;)

I hope that goes through! NetJets is upon the top of my list of companies to work for someday.

thats really great news! hope the vote goes through for all the netjets guys and gals. They are high on my list as well.

Great news! Netjets has been number 1 on my list since I got my Instrument ticket. Can't wait to apply in the not too distant future. I need to start picking up more open time!

Good to hear. Good luck with the vote. With all of those bases, one would be hard pressed to not find a favorable place to live.

Ahh yes...........my "dream" aviation job (and a whole lot of other people's as well)!

After further reading, it will be a bitter/sweet pill if it passes. Post ratification (2005) pilots will get 100 bases and higher pay. Senior pilots get some (arguably) better seniority driven scheduling rights. All pilots will get longevity based raises instead of the PBW (pay by weight) system.

However....
If we incorporate NJI, the company can extend the contract until 2016 (bad).
Retiree medical gets axed.
All pilots forced to use company credit card (possible big losses for card points people)
Sick time will be severely regulated compared to now.

The next 30 days before the vote will take a lot of digesting. I'll let you know more when my head stops spinning/hurting.
This may be a very close vote.

I knew there had to be a downside to the up...that sucks. I hope whatever you guys decide on is the best option. Good luck.

Yeah, I just met a NetJet captain the other day and we talked all about the company and the new contract coming up. He was telling me that I guess there is no limit on the sick days, and he had accumulated like 30+ days of sick days that he could take whenever he wanted. I really hope they keep that in the contract. And like you said about the credit card stuff. If you use your personal card you can rack up points for whatever you want. That would suck if they strictly made you use the company card...

The new sick system is getting changed so that you can no longer accumulate more than twentysomething days to use as "sick" or PTO (Personal Time Off) days. Any more than that, you can add them to a "long term bank" to use in case of disability, or sell them back to the company for cash. I will be selling them back and starting my own "sick" fund.

The company card issue sucks, no arguing that, but you will accumulate points on the company card to use for airline tickets, etc. Not as good as the deal I've got going now, but not enough to sink the deal.

As NJAcapt mentioned before, the real issues are the length of the contract and the termination of retiree health care benefits. I think that the retiree health care was going to be eventually eliminated, but I didn't expect it this soon. Another negative is a pay cap at year 15 for the senior guys.

Lots going on with this new TA. I read it over last week, and am now re-reading it to make sure I fully understanding what I am voting on. A contract that lasts for 9 years is a loooooong contract.

Pay caps off at 15 years??!? :panic: Is that normal at the airlines? I guess I assumed it would continue on a small percentage increase the longer you are with the company over 15+ years. So you actually top off at 15 years?

Well, I took a quick look at the legacy payscales on airlinepilotcentral and it seems that most payscales stop at year 12 with no year over year increases beyond that.

If this new TA passes, year 14 base pay will be 136k for the 7&7 schedule, and up to 166k on the reserve schedule. I guess maybe our 14 year scale isn't so bad after all.

Nightcargo

No, it's not bad at all. I hope you didn't misinterpret me. I've looked at pay scales plenty of times on APC, just still unfamiliar and uninformed on how pay goes after so many years. NetJets is really at the top of my list for places to go after I'm qualified. I would love to retire at this company. I'm a big fan of 7 on 7 off schedules too. Overall, from what little I know about NetJets, it seems like a great, strong company.

Nope, no worries! :bandit:

With so much debating going on over on our union message board, I was honestly curious about the payscales for other airlines. I knew they topped off somewhere, but I wasn't exactly sure at what year it occured.

Okay cool! Yeah I had no idea they topped off, anywhere for that matter. Learn something new everyday ha.
