I went on my first LOOOONG cross country today. It was so thrilling!!

My route: KMSO-KSZT-KCOE-KMSO (Missoula, MT to Sandpoint, ID, to Couer d'Alene, ID, to Missoula, MT)

I got out at Sandpoint, stretched my legs, and chatted with the owner of the FBO for a bit. Great place, and it has since been remodeled. It is GA friendly...previously, it was not.

I can't wait to get my ticket so that I can take people with me...it gets rather lonely up there with no one to talk to. Hahh!!

Those long cross countries get pretty lonely. There's always something to be doing to take up the time though. I always had fun trying to pick out as many features on the sectional that I could identify. It's a challenge, and also helps with staying oriented and on course. I also try to stay in the habit of identifying an emergency landing spot along every sector of my route in case that engine goes silent. Have fun on the rest of your training!

Yahh I did a lot of "if it did go out, where would I put it down..."

But I'll have to try looking for features on the map next time.
