Another flood?!?

Dj,

Quote me a UND SOP that you think needs to be changed. Simple as that.

And I love stirring the pot too :argue:

Hey Douchie I mean Dugie8

"Hey Jeremy, the observation was great kind of sucks it was cut short because SOF MIGHT GET MAD!"

yeah the SOF might get mad is a term many students hear, so then this puts a cross feeling between the students and their SOF. Then they love giving SOF • as much as SOF loves ranting on 'teenager students' right?

Hehe
:argue:

Isn't it fun.

Now coming to operations, I wish the airport was open later, you can not believe how much I love night flights!! But yeah this would cost money, agreed that to keep budgets low the operation hours are cut short, then stress is put on students to finish on time, when during they day they may be at class, projects, working, maybe cleaning their car, maybe going to the high school to hit some teenage girls, maybe watching porn, maybe sleeping, doesn't matter whatever. I believe that IMSAFE regards stress and fatigue, I believe that policies recently changed after a crash in the summer from lack of sleep. Yes it was a PIC fault, but...... Where does the chain start, UND is not perfect. I think UND gets pushy sometimes with their course, regardless we do need motivation to finish on time, constructivley, like BONUS POINTS, not bend over so UND screws you over again.

A positive example, during my 323 last year, to keep me on track, my Lead would call me, to see how I'm doing, and work with me, and he said, I get paid to make sure you are on track, and by real did I finish that course perfectly, Thanks to people who do their jobs, I really loved his technique.

A UND screw over example, get done with your written by this date, no you won't get bonus if you do, you'll get rushed, you'll get to go do a written and perhaps pass with a rate you know you could have done better, or perhaps fail, and waste more time and fall behind, or the worst case scenario, hmm how can we screw them over more. I GOT IT, lets drop them a letter grade! YES!
So a student with potential gets negativley effected, he was about to ACE that class oh but from a 100 he went down to a B, all that work down the drain.

This forum is also like a window between professionals, students, SOFS, LEADS, and whoever, but it shows how each group responds.

Now as a 'normal' human being, with signs of emotion, joy, stress, etc. And as a student, would you not get angry and have a negative motivation from a negative motivator, such as the written test scenario. Oh but student was warned, yeah but did the person who put that there think about a busy lifestyle of a student when doing it? Perhaps they did, and put it there for messing the system up. Putting more stress on the students is a good factor for saftey! YAY

Ok so again, UND Policies, hmm. UND is not perfect. But a great school.
Then we have the Policies that will change like the red river floods and forms oxbow lakes. Why because there are always corrections to be made. The goal is to make them better. I never really contributed to improving them by bringing up topics to Dana, wish I had, never had time. I did have time to rant on UND. Why? Not a childish question I say. But rather a good one. As a human nature and student. HECK yeah Im gonna rant! Its the art of ranting.
SOF MIGHT GET MAD AT ME IF THEY HEAR THIS RANT!! Well if some were a little less uptight, paid better, given more hours of work!! They'd laugh, I'd laugh as an SOF. I think sometimes SOF workers are stressed out, depressed at life. I remember a bunch. BUT DONT GET ME WRONG, I met the coolest SOF workers too, infact when I come back from a flight, I love seeing certain SOF workers with a great smile on their face, or a friendly joke, I want this for a better UND.

ONE HAM ONE CHEESE ONE BREAD, this is the AMERICA I grew up in, VOTE for President, VOTE UND!

Anyway enough time wasted, I'm off to chores now. Hey it's great having you here on the forum with us 'teenagers' though, I love the cheery debates.

WOW! Whatever your drinking, I want some, Gin and Tonic doesn't mess me up that bad! :nana2:

You bring up an interesting point with your 323 example. I think it is great that some leads get involved and keep students motivated, but you have to ask yourself, you as an adult (teenage mindset) why do you need someone else motivating you? Supposedly everyone loves flying, it shouldn't be an issue to get flying done. Of course weather, mx, instructors contribute, but more often than not, my students simply did not have the time to fly. There isn't going to be someone to "motivate" you when you start flying for a regional, or whatever professional path you take, you have to suck it up yourself and do the motivating.

The later hours, I can relate to, but you said it correctly, it is cost issue. Simply not enough continuous flights to justify open till midnite everyday.

The written, come on now. You have 3 to take. PPL, Comm, and Inst. They should be done before midterms AT A MINIMUM. These are the easiest test you will ever take, Gleim publishes a damn book with all the questions AND THE ANSWERS! No excuse for not getting that done. You realize you cannot take your final stage check for 102, 222 and 323 without a passed written, correct? So, if you put it off, you are only hurting yourself. And that is not a UND rule, thats a FAA rule. The "due date" is there, because your fellow students ahead of you, blew it and clogged up the system by not having the exams done on time, blame them, not UND. If taking an FAA written is too much stress for you and is compromising safety, it is time to think of another career field, because an engine on fire and a hydraulic leak, is a tad bit more stressful than a PPL written. Plus, dont kid yourself, if you think aviation classes are hard, and you are having to work so hard to get an A in the class, to the point that missing the written deadline drags down your grade, well I don't know what to tell you, except STOP DRINKING THE BONG WATER!

Not having time to make a suggestion to Dana, the time you spend on this board says otherwise.

SOFs ragging on students, yup I did it, had a blast doin it too. When they call in at 30 miles, call me back at 15, they call back at 12 I tell them to turn around and go back out to 15 and call then. Oh so many fell for it! Have you heard the story about the "cross country binder"? A bunch of dimwitts thought it would be beneficial to their training to keep a copy of all of their cross country logs, complete with times and groundspeeds. They would then "share" these logs since the SOF was supposed to collect them at random. Didn't take too long to figure out that everyone was doing the DVL triangle in the exact same times and groundspeeds. Genius!

I realize you guys think your cool and you have this whole thing of life and work figured out, and good luck with all that. However, little things like "Douchie" point to otherwise, taking issue with writtens needing to be done by a certain date, hell I have 4 tests a year I have to turn in by a certain date, and they are all done and turned in the day I receive them and I guarantee I have more to do in a day than you do.

All kidding aside, ya'll are training to professionals, it is time to act like it, simple as that. That is not to say there is not time for fun and games, hell I found time to fill STRE's office with balloons on April fools, oh good times.

Good luck with your training and career, wherever it takes you, just remember you are sharing the sky with a lot of other people who worked just as hard and long as you did, and would greatly appreciate it, if you had your A game on, each and every day.

Holy ****, you sound like you hated college.

Honestly...you might be old enough to be my dad, but it's quite simple...don't be so naive. It's not SOMEONE, but SOMETHING, that motivates you to do your job well at that point. Earning money, doing it as a job, is motivating enough to push yourself, unless the ONLY thing in your life is aviation, in which case it'd be extremely sad.

How you figure? I absolutely loved my 3 years at NDSU (of what I can remember) Got all the youthful crap out of the way down there, then had to put up with the Green, Pink and White for 2 more years, but still had a blast.

If earning money is the only motivation you have in life, you are in for a rude awakening in the aviation world. Being a professional and doing my job well motivates me, but I was raised a little different than "ya'll"

Hey Douchie, what took you long?

I'm glad my stories interested you, but you have to ask your self as an adult with a pedophile mindset that is attracted to teenagers in a sick fashion, with your attitutude how long can you last in the REAL professional world. Good Luck

Meanwhile coming to motivation, it is called money dumba$$, ever see these bills floating around. You get paid to be at work on time, thats what PROFESSIONALISM is, involves getting a monetary value for ones work, or service. I'm sure you bend over for coorporations enough that you forgot what that was.

Coming to time and college, when you were at home sitting and staring at your gleim books back in the day.. haha I can only laugh, I bet that was your life, I bet you sat and had multiple orgasms on those red books. Falling behind deadline is not from fellow UND students clogging the system, if so UND must expand, we are the customers dips!t, I said the deadline was put there by the school and drops you a letter grade, read! Go take a class on reading if you wish. I beleive if two people tell you to read properly means you should really consider it. I was not ripping on the FAA in this case. So my suggestion drop the acid and quit hallucinating.

Coming back to your favorite word of professionalism, go look it up in the dictionary and realize you are not listed under it.

Coming to your attitude, GOOD LUCK, I might see you in the MORT news, hopefully some poor company does not fall for hiring douchies like you. Especially poor UND hiring you for SOF and your jokes that clearly are a hazard to saftey.

Coming to luck, I'll hand you the luck you wish me back, honestly I'm one of those snobs that have all the money paid for no loans no crap, and have life set up, and business plans for the future. My luck goes to you, hoping you have a great life in Bummville and lo pay run down commercial flying gets you settled with a lovley farm wife. Tata

Thank you for your pedophile time on this board and drink the fountain of life

Wow, you are exactly as everyone at UND describes you, an idiot. If you define being a professional by the size of your paycheck, good luck. I actually didn't have to use the Gleim books to pass those tests, they are pretty easy, but someone who has never had to work a day in their life, you wouldn't get that. I willing to bet, you're the kind of student that asks what kind of questions the stage pilot asks, has never opened a PTS and has absolutely no idea what the Stan manual is.

I loved having students like you for stage checks, the simpliest thing would throw you into a panic, it was mildly funny, kind of like watching bad kareko.

All the money in the world isn't gonna help you bud, I will be sure to waive the next time I'm in Greece and you are the one pumping gas into my airplane!

Hey Dugie, did you see that GoJets is conducting interviews during the SAMA event. I wonder who the idiot is that let them in the back door? I have a feeling I smell Polovitz all over this one! I thought about calling Kim and letting her know what they are all about so she could spread the word to everyone coming into Student Services!

I saw that! But hey, GoJets flys CRJs and UND has a CRJ sim so it is a marriage made in hell! I've talked to Kim about things like this (not GJs specifically) and the general attitude around there, is a job is a job.

I'm pretty sure Polovitz would sell his first born just to get an airline to come to UND for a "visit". Alas, we can rest assured though, it is SAMA, so something along the lines will get screwed up and GJs won't be impressed, thus saving some poor schlup from ruining their career!

I can think of two of our fellow alumni at Trans States who would be rather offended by the "a job is a job" attitude!
