Another "drone" incident

This is not a law, just what the AMA states in it's rules:

Academy of Model Aeronautics National Model Aircraft Safety Code

"RC night flying requires a lighting system providing the pilot with a clear view of the model’s attitude and orientation at all times. Hand-held illumination systems are inadequate for night flying operations."

https://www.modelaircraft.org/files/105.PDF

Only thing the FAA states as far as I know is that model aircraft flights should be kept below 400 feet AGL, should be flown a sufficient distance from populated areas and full scale aircraft, and are not used for business purposes.

That's interesting stuff. It was neat to see, even though I'm not into R/C flying, but neat nonetheless.

RC is a lot of fun. I used to be into it big time years ago. My eldest son has two models and my oldest grandson has two, I still have a couple and once in a blue we go out and fly. Most serious modelers belong to a club and there are just a ton of them around the country. They have all sorts of little events, social gatherings and fly together. It's a great hobby. EAA even has a big model club event here at CPM every year. RC models are huge deal in Europe.

This will crack you up. Kind of a dodgy landing though.

That's a better landing than most army pilots usually pull off. They've compressed my spine on numerous occasions. I thought this one was great. Makes me want to get back into the hobby.

I think that is a 600 sized T-Rex. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Also pretty dangerous.

This guy is using a scrapped R22 cockpit with a camera mounted on a 450 size heli.

Not that it matters, but the video that was making email and Facebook rounds last week wasn't shot during a 4th of July fireworks show, it was filmed during SunFest. Which is a waterfront arts/ craft/ music festival in West Palm Beach from earlier this year. Somehow that video got its 15 minutes of fame over the holiday weekend.
