Another DC-3 incident

These guys are BadAss.... Great example of airman-ship !!
#1-Fly the plane
#2 Fly the Plane
#3 Fly the plane
Stay Alive !
Seems like there was a decision to make, they made the right one. Sacrifice the plane, save life’s. Not only the crews life’, they were overflying homes.

Great job!

In happier DC-3 news I managed to land this one safely.

Happy 45th birthday to me.

The group that owns this bird gives rides, skydivers, ect. They also (for a small donation) give an hour long flight to pilots. I've always wanted to fly one, so this year for my birthday I signed myself up.

I guess I didn't scare the guy too badly because now, I'm signed up for SIC training next week. :aghast::aghast::aghast:

I recall going to retrieve the DC-2 from the paint shop, he who shall not be named decided Jim Quinlan (his old P-51 crew chief from the ANG before they got jets) and myself should accompany him. I remember walking around underneath the airplane and Clay bet Jim whether or not he could guess the air pressure in the tires by kicking them, he kicked the tires and made a guess, Jim put a gage on them and Clay was right.

There is a joke in here somewhere about Clay being good at inflating numbers, but I can't quite put it together.

Any questions are good to ask for informational purposes when it comes to understanding what the crew was specifically facing at a given moment and what drove certain actions they took or didn’t take. Could be some good lessons for another pilot or crew in a similar situation someday.
Yup. I don’t necessarily read such an inquiry as implying they screwed up, either.
