Another Alaska Plane Missing

Missing: DeHavilland Beaver, N9313Z with 4 on board missing in Alaska. Park rangers aboard missing plane

There have been no radio or emergency locator transmitter transmissions. The missing plane is a DeHavilland Beaver, maroon with white stripes, with tail numbers N9313Z.


Pilots in the area were being encouraged to monitor frequency 121.5 and notify the park (907-246-3305) immediately if they obtained any information.

Altogether, 17 people have been killed in Alaska plane crashes since June.

The pilot's name is Marco, I flew with him a little back in Hawaii. Super nice guy.

This is my first summer up here so I have no frame of reference but I sure hope this is not the usual number of accidents.
 
Actually, historically this is about average. Its been a rough year, but this is about right statistically.
 
Those are not good odds....

That's all relative because there are a lot more pilots up here flying in sometimes very difficult conditions.

Yes, his name was confirmed to me this morning. He recently did some training in St. Augustine Florida with a very good friend of mine.
