In a way, I guess it was. But really, I wouldn't suggest taking medical advice from Soaps

Yea cause Dr. Eve Russell on Passions is a OB/GYN,Pediatrician, ER Trauma doctor,Psychologist, Neurologist,Radiologist, anesthesiologist,Medical specialist, general practisionist, surgeon and a polygraph operator. Or basically whatever the corresponding script calls for her to be for that specific episode.
Oh and it only took her eight years to graduate med school!

She's slow, then. Usually it takes three!

And Matt, as a straight man, let me just say that I watched General Hospital in the days when Rick Springfield and Jack Wagner were on there!

Dr. Noah Drake and, oh, crap, I can't remember Jack Wagner's character.

so did i... i still do...started watching DOOL (days of our lives) while i was in my playpen and still watch it and general hospital today (bout once a week really)... used to be into AMC (all my children), but i fall into/out of love with that program. passions i just can't get into cuz it's just too irrational/stupid just like when days had the ol exorcist thing going on....

it'd a good escapism and actually a lot less racy than it used to be - considering shows like desperate housewives is on prime time now a days...

so how is our youngest JC member doing Amber?? any photos?

Gasp....yea Passions can be totally irrational. But to me that is the alure as you said it is a great escape from reality.
They have kinda really curbed the supernatural plots by alot lately. So it has been more like a "normal" soap as of late.

He's doing very well, the staff at the hospital is very pleased with his progress. He never did need a ventilator tube, he was able to breath completely on his own from the begining. He did have that issue with the oxygen canula (trying to rip it off his face) the next time we went to see him he had mits on his hands to keep his little fingers off the tubing! He had a IV in his belly button, and when that was removed he had one in his foot. Those have both now been removed. He is much happier now that he no longer has the IVs and he can wear clothes and be wrapped up nice and snug in blankets. We took Alex to visit the other day after my mom left, and he was starting to throw a fit in the visitation room. We were a little worried that the noise might upset Brandon, but as soon as Brandon heard the whining & crying he opened his eyes really big, looked around and gave a HUGE smile! He recognized his big brother's voice and totally responded to it.

He does still have his feeding tube, it's very small and unobtrusive and he doesn't seem to mind that so much. His eating is improving everyday, and now it's just a matter of time and weight. He needs to eat lots & grow. The doctor said yesterday it might still be a few weeks though.

It kills me everyday to have to leave him there. He's just SO little though, I know he needs to stay, he still needs the monitoring and care they give him there. But I want my little guy home.

Belated congrats, glad to hear that both of you are doing well. Sounds like you really want to take him home, but just think about how nice it will be when you finally do get him home. Congrats again

Good evening, Amber:

First of all, Congratulations. Second, if you need some help(I need it myself too with triplets), let me know. Third, NICU was my bed room for about 2 weeks. My wife had C-section(stay for 5 days at hospital). My triplets were born about 4 lbs and some. I know how you feels about taking Brandon home. How old was Brandon when he was born?

From my experiences, the release criteria are
1. Able to wake up by himself.
2. Able to cry when hungry.
3. Able to keep his body temperature.
4. Able to pooh.

Never mind, the nurse at NICU probably already you all of that. Maybe you and my wife can exchange about "pre-mature babies."

5 day stay for a c-section? I could be so lucky. I went home 40 hours after my c-section. (No rest at home for a mom with a 19 month old!)

The criteria given to me for his 'release' is
-Reach 1800 grams in weight
-Able to maintain body temp outside of incubator
-Take all feedings by bottle/mouth (no feeding tube)

Are your three all home now? It sure is sad to leave him there day after day.

All three of them were home within a week. They are about 5 1/2 weeks now.

The main reason for 5 days stay is mom can stay close and "breast feed" kids. She still pump for triplets.

No rest at home...I got a 5 years old girl at home. She has been great for help so far. She also has a little hard time to adopt 3 new babies.

ps: It would be hard to find cloth for pre-mature baby.

Babies R Us has a blue boys "premie" outfit with airplanes all over it that say "I love my daddy." We were ticked we couldn't find it in another size, though.

I just had to go to our BRU and see if they carried that preemie outfit, they do, so I bought it

It'll probably be his coming-home outfit. The one we were going to use is most likely way too big.

I'm a sucker for airplane-themed clothes & toys. My poor kids are either going to love or seriously hate airplanes.

Join the club. Did ya see the new light jackets that say "Little pilot" with a P-51 on the back? My mother-in-law bought that. Might I also suggest Baby Depot at Burlington Coat Factory. We cleaned them OUT of airplane clothing that was on clearance.

If it's got airplanes or a dragon on it, it's probably coming home with us.

I have an airplane outfit that he will grow into if you want it. It's a set of 2 and is brand new! The size is for 18 months. I meant to get it to a friend of mine, but I never saw him and his kid grew out of it... and I won't be having kids anytime soon.

PM me your address and I'll get it sent out to you!

He's doing very well. He's now passed his birth weight, so he's made up for the newborn weight loss plus some! He's eating like a madman, sleeping well, no tubes of any sort anymore. The only thing attached to him in any way are his moniters.

Just waiting for him to get big enough to bring home!
