Angel Flight

Anyone do any of these flights? Seems pretty easy for all the paperwork and set up stuff but I'm just curious to what everyone's take is.

I have done one with a friend, I am listed as a pilot thru angel flight but I have not set one up myself. It was easy to get signed up and its easy to get flights. When youo pick up paxs you have them sign the waiver, Fax it off before takeoff and fly them to the destination. Great feeling.

I do have a friend who does these 4 days a week in a Citation X!!! He said its his way to give back with the fortune he has been given. I say no matter what people think of him. What he does is a great thing for the paxs involved....Jack :)

I have rode with him on quite a few trips and all the pax's I have helped with really enjoyed it.

I volunteered last year to fly as a copilot for Med Flight of Indiana. Thus far no response. :( Supposedly the group is mainly comprised of local aircraft pilot owners, although it doesn't seem that there are many copilots on these flights. It's a good way of giving back to society with the skills that you own in my opinion, and you'll learn how blessed we all are to have what we have.

Frankly I think it needs to become a little more grass roots. The bureaucracy sometimes gets in the way of the company doing the right thing.

I am just starting to get into it through a guy a fly with, seems pretty easy to start up, just some paperwork. The guy that is setting me up does it once or twice a month in an SR22

Thanks for the responses.

That's about the same I have been feeling. It is a great company but it just feels that the major incentives to do it are for the tax cuts, and not truly helping out. At least everyone gets something positive from it though!
