Yutes gone. Bethel ramp got a lot more room all of a sudden.

Word is they got bought by a competitor but don't know who. Ravn is picking up some flights through the end of the month.

I've heard different things. Top of the list was pilot shortage. Not sure it that is true.

Anyone else got any info?

Ultimately, it's overall a good thing that the VFR in a piston single ops seem to be dying out. But you can bet I'll be raising a glass to the OGs that have more IMC time in a sled at 500' than anyone on this board has total time (assuming there were any of those guys left at Yute).

Not only is there a greater number of pax for Hageland and Grant, but the amount of bypass is gonna increase for everyone. Good luck to all those involved.

Seriously, i just applied there for a pilot position last week. So it's between Grant and Hageland now?

I ask this in all sincerity, devoid of all snark: is the bolded above a good thing, or is this a bit of Alaska sarcasm at the fact?

Piston Alaska 135 is pretty much the only air carrier operation I'd outright refuse to put my Mom on regardless of who is at the controls.

Is that pronounced "Napa's Kayak"?

The funny thing is the other guys with the turbines have amassed quite a body count out there the last few years.
That is funny. I was just talking with one of the FAA POIs out of Anchorage. She said that Yute historically had the best safety record out of bethel.
Fascinating.

It's probably "wrong" on my part to blame the equipment, then. I wonder... o_O
