And it's not even summer yet (Passenger vs Pilot)

No, he said:

That's not even remotely what I said.

Take a lookie at post 164.

@Seggy

Get real close to the screen.

Ok. Here goes: WHO CARES!

Come on man not everything airline related needs to be jocular and jingoistic like two sportsball fans of competing teams, drunk on Bud Light at Buffalo Wild Wings, man!

:). Sheesh!

I wasn't responding to post 164. I was responding to post 140. Don't pull a Hillary and attempt to redefine the timeline

So at your place if you are ready to go 25 minutes prior you can tell the gate agent to close the door (even if they aren't done boarding), tell the rampers to leave bags behind, as it is your plane and you are ready to push?

See above. This has nothing to do with any individual airline.

Yes, the PIC ultimately has responsibility of the aircraft, but it certainly is muddied sitting at the gate where more factors are in play.

That would be defined as an abuse of captains authority. If I wanted to be a tool I could certainly try that, However, I work for an airline where we're all teammates working together.

I said none of that. That is what's called a non-sequitur extrapolation. Airlines handle different things differential. Some playgrounds have big bouncy red balls and others have big bouncy yellow balls.

You continually attempt to volley with one particular airline in a weenis measuring contest and it's unbecoming.

Let's put it this way. After the team is expanded, to include the GSC, OCC, CPO, Corp Security, and Legal, if the captain still feels it's necessary to remove the pax, regardless of what all the other departments say, the pax is gone. End of story. Can you say the same thing happens at your shop?

It's amazing how solutions to what seemed to be intractable probelms, suddenly manifest themselves when all involved are reminded about that amazing safety device known as the parking brake.

Your place isn't the only airline where everyone is working together.

If you just decide to kick someone off the airplane at the gate without bringing in those other folks working together, it would be an abuse of captains authority as well. Yes the Captain has the final say, no argument on that, but there are other folks involved that if used correctly, can help enforce PIC authority.

As stated, @BobDDuck was saying the same thing you were.

This has nothing to do with a weenis measuring contest. If anything @Cptnchia is being a little sensitive as he was corrected.

In my example it does relate.

As clearly stated by myself and others, at the gate, while the Pilot in Command has the final say, he has a team around him that can help or impede that PIC Authority. To say that the plane is completely the PICs at the gate is disingenuous. One handles passenger issues at the gate differently than in the air. More resources and hands in the cookie jar at the gate. I would hope they would be used.

Let me help you with that, like I helped your bud Cherokee Cruiser:

*In my opinion

Pay attention. Again, he did not say that in post 140. That is the post that started this. He may have expanded and changed his intent in 164, but that

Ya know what. Who gives a crap. Obviously you got a bone to pick, so have at it Gunga Din. I'm not going to be your hobby horse on this one. Good luck in your career, hope Oscar doesn't screw all of you, and peace out.

I am paying attention.

You just got butt hurt as you have been corrected numerous times in this thread.

So, in your opinion, you would handle a belligerent passenger situation the same at the gate and in the air?

Nope, I just simply denoted that there's a vast gulf between "In my (your) opinion" and the way any particular airline works.

Ah'mo handle my business with the toolbox I was entrusted with. Handle yours as per you and your companies wishes! :) Have fun! Hakuna Matata and all that.

Stop trying to make it another idiotic sportsball game.

Passengers get riled up of BS all the time. I had a passenger get P.O.'ed because I ended up in first class on the way home.

"Crew isn't supposed to be in first class" he said to me as I took my seat.

"I know, riiiiight!"

He hit the FA call button, and said to her "he isn't supposed to be up here!"

She asked him if he'd like to be re-seated, in the back. He declined.
I once had a guy look at my when I sat down in FC in uniform one Thanksgiving and say "it's an insult to see you sitting up here with all of us who had to pay alot of money"
