Is that monthly income in US Dollars?

George,
Good info.

atpn2008,
According to the ad, Yes. The all-mighty (or is it anymore?) US Dollar is indicated with "$". Japanese Yen is indicated with "JPY".

Many expat contract jobs pay well. Contracts in Japan tend to pay quite well. Mx standards there are respectable & management there in general do not have an agenda to screw with expat pilots (as opposed to some other parts of the world).

Although contracting is not a "career track" (there are different opinions out there), since this is a CRJ Captain position, one can always make some $$ then come back stateside & go to the majors (you will have the turbine PIC time + some savings to help transition through that downgrade to big jet FO pay).
This may be a good job for someone who can handle the locale/commute. A good stepping stone??

One suggesting: research the contracting company (and of course, the airline & contract itself) well. They come in all shades.

The Captain I'm flying with is going to Cathay and training for him is 4 months, granted he is currently flying the ERJ and is going to fly the 777. But about a month is just the conversion of your certificates over the the ICAO stuff.
