I flew into Mackinac Island years ago and ran into a former regional pilot that was flying them and he seemed extremely happy with them and the pay. I believe they mostly do a lot of flying to and from the islands in the Great Lakes and I think Mike Rowe was a regular customer of theirs for awhile. I'm not sure what the pay is and what the terms are, but I'm pretty confident in saying it'd be well worth throwing a resume in.
 
I think it's more that they have problems getting pilot up there and that they are expanding. The Partenavia's a new addition as I thought they were all Cherokee 6s with a few twins. All I know is I met a guy with a lot of time that seemed quite happy there like 5 years ago. If you're a low timer it never hurts to hear their spiel, although it's great to do your homework on a place and make sure they're not bad before you relocate.

Can't be because they 500 hour guys are building time quick and leaving. All of those flights (except maybe the DNR Forest Fire stuff) are short as hell hops.

Could be getting guys that leave as soon as the realize the nearest Tim Hortons is a 2 hour drive :)

Yeah, you'd really have to be the outdoors type to enjoy the area. I'm from the mitten, but I'm a Grand Rapids native...

Wonder if they do p/t stuff....
 
It might be tough this time of year, but I imagine in Summer it's a lot of fun working with all the tourists coming to and from the island that it wouldn't feel so remote. Grand Rapids is what, like a two hour drive?
 
From St. Ignace? about 3.5. I'm in Chicago now, so it would be well over 6, close to 7.

No last time I called, and one hell of a long drive for a few flight hours

I'll be moving from SW Michigan to the Lansing area this summer.
I wonder if they would agree to let you fly their aircraft home and back so you wouldn't have to move or drive so far?
Negotiable perk?

I doubt it, besides the cost in fuel they would incur, there's parking, hangar (it is MI and snows 9 months a year) MX if it breaks at your field, you get sick, how do they get a pilot to Lansing to retrieve A/C
