An Apology to Colgan Pilot on Jetcareers

ColganFO,

I don’t want to you to take my questions as being antagonistic, all I’m trying to do is if in fact you worked for PJ that sure would shine at least some credit your direction that's all. Although I’m not sure I totally succeeded; I was trying to design my questions to where a linemen, or other non-pilot employee or observer would flounder about and not specifically be able to answer. On the flip side of that, and to suppress any question of my own claims I’m totally an open book and will be willing to publicly answer any questions you may have. As for enough pilots, to be honest with you I’m not 100% sure when you said "had enough pilots" is an accurate claim. I agree that the total number of pilots was a larger number than in most 135s but then so was the number of aircraft. I recall some very quick upgrade and transitioning due to lack of crew. As far as outsourcing, I’m not entirely sure I understand. I didn’t say that I flew ’your’ aircraft, what I said was “In fact I’ve actually covered plenty of trips for them during a period of merger talks between themselves and my company at that time”. I apologize if my wording was not clear. What I meant by that was that since PJ and my company were in negotiations, that I had been crewed on my company’s aircraft (which was Universal Jet at the time, I still maintain a VERY close working and personal relationship with them) a number of times to ‘cover’ the trip, in our aircraft of course. Further more as a qualed 135 guy you should know that I would not have been able to fly 135 in PJ aircraft without going through approved company indoc and I believe a 293 (or 297 is it?) with a company check airman.

Thank you for pointing out where I can find additional information about PJ, I’ll write down the address incase I decide calling the owner at home is too much trouble.

Again I surly am not calling you a liar, or saying that you did not work for PJ but I don’t think that the information you have posted is exactly what I would deem knowledge of an insider. However giving credit where credit is due, the CP’s name is very uncommon, German if I recall correctly. And although PJ’s main base was in VNY, its very, very unlike any pilot to include the word California when mentioning Van Nuys. To a 135 pilot that's like making sure someone knows that NYC is in New York State, it just read a little odd to me that's all.

Riddle me this...
Initials of the principal owner, if he/she was a pilot, jet or just recreational?

Over the course of five years you must have met the owners spouse, what country are they from?

In Teterboro, what building did PJ operate out of, or did they have their own building?

In Teterboro, you don’t remember if your own company had crew cars/number of/type or not?

In Teterboro, Pilots had VERY specific and unique accommodations, care to comment?

Main office in VNY had VERY specific food in the lobby, ? Trust me, every pilot remembers where the free food is!

Your not calling me liar, then whats with the interrogation?
If you must inquire any further into my background at PJ, I did the most flying there after the Lear crash in Santa Monica, coordinating the Air Ambulence flights through our company. If you want to know anymore about me give a call to the chief pilot I answered to at the time, since that was who I used to answer to. Considering you say that you know the management here this shouldn't be a problem for you.
Remember chief pilot's name starts with R and ends with an N, I'm sure you know the rest.
I was based in Teterboro, NJ so I had no need for the crew car.
The owners, your wrong there, never met them since they had they're stakes in other things and rarely traveled to Teterboro. It wasn't exactly like PJ was the owners bread and butter, but i'm sure you already know that also.

colganFO where are you? this is an easy thing to clear up. just answer a couple of these questions and it is all done. put your money where your mouth is. thanks.

My problem is that I planned on discussing my personal opinions on jet careers, more specifically in regards to the whole union issue.
Personally I don't want my name attached to that, I know how Colgan works and it doesn't take much to fail a PC.

I would love to defend myself, but Doug likes to pick in choose what I get to say.
So there is not much I can do about that.

Doug doesn't pick and choose what you get to say. You will not find a more fair person. If you tell him something in confidence, rest assured it will stay that way. He could clear it up in a matter of seconds.

Until then, we have the person who runs this site and is very open, and then we have you a person who appears to be hiding behind the name.

I know where people will lay their money.....

Well I am currently in a "moderated" status, which means what ever I write needs to be approved.
I'm not asking people to choose between me and Doug, he has been very nice to me since i started here, so I will give him the same respect he has given me.
But I am being limited on my ability to speak.

Has Doug told you that you are not allowed to jump into my Q&A session? Dude just grab a couple of my questions and answer them so you don't end up looking like a jealous tug driver. Somone who worked five months, let a lone five years for PJ should be able to breeze through them, I wasn't trying to trip you up.

Seems to me the only one picking and choosing what to say is ColganFO. I highly doubt Doug put a gag order on him via PM.

In all honesty, I could have EASILY faked being a SWA FO when I was working on the ramp there. I knew just enough about the goings on to pass. I even had a few friends that were FOs that would answer questions I had. Heck, I even had the door code for the pilot's lounge. If you come on saying you're one thing, then people that work at the same company say "Look, you're not making sense" or "Uh, that's not right" (and it's more than just one or two of them), red flags go up fast. We've been burned before around here wth people pretending to be something their not, and hiding only further reduces your credibility. Then you've got someone that comes out from someone else you say you worked for giving you an opportunity to prove you worked there without giving up who you are or making yourself a "target" at your current employer. And you pass on that as well. What are we supposed to think?

I threw ColganFO in a moderated status pending my approval because quite frankly, I get about six "He's misrepresenting himself and speaking for Colgan" PM's a day and none of multiple attempts to put the whole thing to rest were fulfilled.

And "someone" keeps showing up trying to re-register... Oh joy.

If I suspect you're a 'troll' you're going into moderated status.

Same IP address, same computer, same typos: "simpleguy", "colganFO", "IAHFO". There are other methods that the software looks for but that's proprietary.

"Simpleguy", the latest wrote this when I asked after he registered and the software alerted me of a possible duplicate:

Me said:
Lemme guess, you work for Colgan, right? :)

and

Me said:
Just that a lot of your registration criteria matches a couple of pre-existing users. Are you on a public computer?

i use the computer at the cyber cafe. have a coffee
and waste time

What are the chances that a Colgan pilot and a CFI, wishing to be a...Colgan Pilot... are sitting in the same CyberCafe and are attracted to the same thread?

Aroo?!

Now does anyone else see why cheap, easy-to-get webmail addresses are a pain in the rump? :)

IAHfo was apparently in Texas, but he was in the Northeast, logging on from the same "cyber cafe" that SimpleGuy chills at, which happens to be... dunt dunt DUUUUUN! the same "cyber cafe" that ColganFO apparently goes to.

Hell, there's a potential networkJC event right there in NY and we didn't even know it! :)

Doug I would be MORE than happy to put a 'case' together detailing his lies when he likes to talk about the inner workings of the company I work for.
