An accident waiting to happen!

Im no Pilatus PC12 Expert, but for those of you who are, is this a safe thing to do??
Flying 1800NM on a Pilatus NG?..
what if Toluca (mmto) Airport is closed, would they have enough fuel for a suitable alternate?...
Their website states:
Max range (3 Pax, 30,000 ft, NBAA IFR reserve) 1,560 nm / 1,795 sm

Auxiliary fuel tanks?

Also, flightaware doesn't track in Mexico, the aircraft could have gotten a through clearance, or simply landed at another airport.

Depending on winds it'd be a good stretch, but at the right altitude in the right conditions that thing has a heck of an endurance with full fuel. A quick fltplan.com estimate shows around 2200lbs of fuel required for a flight like that if it were direct. We hold 2700lbs total, so doable? ehhh... Would I try it? No thanks.

For what I hear this plane is a frequent visitor of MMTO... so I guess the guys most know what they are doing..

Oh great, I can't wait till someone posts about my short approach in the Dash that was well within our SOPs being "an accident waiting to happen".

This thread right here is all the more reason to block tail numbers.

Our are. And other that being able to see when the other guy is getting back in real time, I rather like it.

Well, being over land, there's a whole host of options en route for him to put it down if he needs to. As far as getting there and there being a need to go to an alternate, you should already have the info on weather/operating hours/fuel reserves according to burn and calculated, to make a good decision on continuing or heading to plan B.

Just did my first trip to Hawaii, then Fiji and now Australia in the G200... I've learned a lot on planning and equal time points in this trip!

Even with a blocked tail number you can track someone through fltplan.com if the tail number is on your profile. We do it all the time.

Ya, I looked into that. Looks like you have to submit some paperwork though?

No paper work. All I'm able to see is scheduled departure and arrival time, actual departure time with estimated arrival time and time enroute remaining. No map position like on flight aware.

Ah I see that now. But if you want live tracking with the map, you have to send in some authorization form.

We take off not knowing if we will make the destination a lot too. Depends on the actual winds, burns, time to climb, etc. It's really not that uncommon in our line of work. We always have outs though if we can't make it. I've landed with about 600 lbs in a metro before, which is legal with no alternates.
