I imagine that would do it.

Back in the day, during ski racing practice on the east slope on of Vermont's Green Mountains, we would hear giant farts of noise oozing over the ridge from the west slope of the Green Mountains where GE (owner of the brand at the time) was testing the GAU. Right about the same time GE was developing the PGU-28/B SAPHEI round, so maybe that's what we were hearing. Unclear to me how similar the GAU is to the M61, but I imagine pretty similar, sonic-wise.
