I feel ya, Adam!I'm not to worried about Eagle disappearing in the short term. We have about 300 airplanes that feed AA. That cannot just go away overnight. But for the long term I am worried. Just look at expressjet. Except with AMR at the plate I think it would be worse than lossing 69 airplanes. Also if they do sell us will the airplanes be part of the deal? Who knows. I have already been getting the old resume up to date and looking elsewhere, but its hard for me to make a lateral move. Besides some charter stuff no one else will give me the time of day without any PIC, which is still no where in sight at eagle. Only time will tell.
I just got through reading Bowler's last three updates and the timeline (so to speak) is daunting:
1. He announces the TA between APA and ALPA and that Eagle will be able to exercise its option for the additional 25 CRJ-700s;
2. He announces that APA has walked away from the negotiations because they refused to agree that Eagle has the right to exercise the option for the additional CRJ7's; then..
3. He announces that AMR is divesting itself of us.
What that means for me (and you) right now is a no-brainer = we stay and build experience.
What that means for you and me long term.....well, it's exactly like you put it: We could be screwed.
I have just over 2100TT with just shy of 1000 turbine and zero TPIC.
What that gets me is basically hired by another regional - at the bottom - starting over. NetJets, Citationshares, FlexJet...etc. all want a minimum of 2500 TT with an ATP. Hell, Citationshares sent me an e-mail telling me that they are currently hiring FO's with a minimum of 6000TT, and ATP and over 1000 TPIC.
So, who knows?
Guess we just stay where we are - update the resume and see who bites. Proof is in the pudding that it won't be DAL or CAL or any of the other majors.
Time will tell. In the mean time, have fun!
