I'm glad to see that management is trying and I appreciate that. I do want to see this actually work out for a few people before I decide to settle in for to more years though. It also looks like I have some reading to do on AAY.

I don't see this as a big deal. Its not like the minimums are any different for this program versus a street applicant. In fact, one could argue that the minimums are significantly higher, because of all the additional AMF requirements to go thru it. A quick glance at the seniority list shows less than 50 people with 3+ years of time. Even then, I'm sure a good chunk of them don't meet the TC/CA/ACP requirement, so the number of people this actually helps, is so small.

You can go there if you meet the mins. AAY fits between a regional and a national carrier. Obviously they fly some of the oldest equipment in the country as far as pax 121 goes. Good spot to go get a big jet type and get some 121 hours for sure, but it isn't a career destination.

As I said, 6 lol. Truth be told this could maybe help 1-3% of the pilot group at any given time.

What are the odds of getting the 99 in BUR? I will soon be meeting the posted mins and already live in so cal...

Probably pretty decent. They will be losing a few people there with the move to Dallas and lately have been giving people any base they want just to get them on the property.

I look at it as another carrot since they've hired about 12 of us without this. Realistic and at least it's mainline. Not a career stop in my mind with the limited information I have now though. Still better than a regional and Jet Blue IMO
You must be drinking way to much rum to call alliegent mainline.

Thats like saying Allegiant is the same as American because they both fly MD-80s...
The definition of "mainline" is the operation of the flight by the owner of the flying rather than a third party.

When XJT was doing branded flying that flying was considered "mainline".

Allegiant being a mainline carrier means the pilots will actually have some actual leverage in their current negotiations with management. I would expect some QOL increases in their first contract if it doesn't keep dragging out.

Ultimately allegiant is a way better step out of AMF than the regionals.

Is PHX still pretty senior? (not that I'm applying anytime soon, just trying to keep abreast of the current possibilities.)

For AMF? No, not in the PA31/BE99. Many new hire PA31's go there, a few 99 new hires have gone there this year
Sounds like you could politely "request" PHX / BE99 in order to sign on...

We'd love to move back to Phoenix, I'm done with Chicago...being close to family has been nice, but Phoenix > Illinois.

Just realize, that if you do go the PA-31 route, the typically junior PA-31 runs aren't based in PHX, but in the outstations.

Uhhh, no....

If I said Allegiant was a legacy, you can give me crap. They are mainline. There's zero argument here. Are these words really new to you and @z987k?
Mainline makes people think of good payscales, work rules and stuff... allegient is like regioanal v2.0

No you're right, and I know you're right. But using it to put a positive spin it doesn't make it any better. Calling them mainline does nothing to increase allegiants value.

Yeah, for what I want out of aviation, a regional would actually probably be a better schedule. I've never gotten a straight answer on what they get for time off. Sounds to me that it's all out and backs 5 days a week like AMF. I would like 4-5 days off in a row a few times a year...
