Ameriflight

I was told by BUR that it is going to take about a month per plane to inspect so they are pretty worried about it. Supposedly they are going to try and cycle all of the planes through BUR as well.

SLC can do them now and have already done one. They pull the plane apart for a week then spend a few days on inspection than take another week putting it all back together. Now the 1900 tail inspection thats a whole other bitch.

New to this site and have a question...is HWD junior? I'm guessing it is since its the old OAK base but can somebody confirm? Second, if you get HWD, what's the upgrade time if you stay in base? Reason I ask is I'm originally from the area so I have living options to keep life cheap. Any input is appreciated.

There are several Bay Area guys there now so you won't be jumping up to the top of the seniority list anytime soon. HWD is junior so your chances of getting it are very good.

You can easily get HWD. If you want your TPIC in a reasonable amount of time you will need to go somewhere else though.

How firm is the 50 ME requirement they list on the website for hiring minimums? I'm just a hair under 30 hours of ME time and could see myself wanting to try to make a jump to Ameriflight here in the next 6-9 months.

I don't know of anyone getting on with less than 50. I thought they wanted 100 but would take as little as 50 but things might have changed.

The non regulatory minimums like multi time are just as flexible as the company's ability to get people into class. If they need more pilots bad enough, you've got a shot with under 30 hours.

Thanks for that. I was guessing that was the case, but wasn't sure. Perhaps by this summer they will be in need of pilots greatly.

Does the Smyrna MQY route open up often? I live in Nashville and it would be preeeety sweet to get that as a run

Also another thought; what say you if someone were to fly for a regional doesn't matter who, Air Wisconsin for example, and then wanted to transition to major cargo operators like UPS/FedEx. Does that happen, or do they look for guys with only previous cargo experience or 121 jet/crew and the whole nine yards, etc? Thoughts?
