The sim causes the washouts, interesting. Do they have to have a certain number of washouts in each class? What is the hardest part about the sim? Instrument failures during approaches? Getting used to the way it handles?
Don't be afraid to ask questions if you really don't understand something.
Sure, if you don't mind getting verbally abused for not knowing any and everything about TAF's, METARS, etc.
Gallagher is the bomb, he'll do the jumpseating presentation.
Jumpseating PRESENTATION now?! "Hello class, you can't jumpseat on our airplanes. But we do have a super stellar perk for you! We spend money on CASS so we can only reciprocate with Southwest! Isn't that fun!" Geez, that presentation probably takes 2 minutes...
Please excuse my cynicism... Some of this stuff just continues to amaze me... I'll let ESF handle it from here. Otherwise, I can't complain about AMF. Pay attention in groundschool and then everything gets peachy.
I assure you that you have nothing on me when it comes to Ameri-cism!
(That's Amerlight cynicism)
I loved Bob. Just don't take anything personal.
TAKE NOTES.
Survive the RA-MA-DA.
In my class of fourteen, 3 flunked the written, 1 quit due to getting JM'ed during BIGS to PDX despite living in BUR, 1 left to fly King Airs, And 4 flunked out during the sims. So 5 out of 14 made it to the seniority list.
AMF was a blast!! And the times that really suck are kinda funny as time passes!
What class were you in, that sounds alot like mine. Ah the good old days of having way too many people and not enough slots. "What part of put one single line through the part of your name that is wrong and write it correctly above it do you not understand? Go talk to the chief pilot" Sorry V couldn't help it!
How long did that take?![]()
I was early fall 2005. Citabria's story with the crossing out of the "nt" had become legendary by that time.
Deicing your iced over airplane with a weed sprayer/mini ice scraper in a dark snowstorm in the middle of nowhere when its -10 and blowing 40 knots can only truly be recognized as funny after one has moved on from AMF.

Legendary?! Wow, how did that get around? Did B.S. ever bring it up or was it pilot circulation?
