Ameriflight BE99 v PA-31

Lets say I apply to Ameriflight... can I just request the BE 99?

If I just meet the 135 mins, do they still hire straight to the BE99?
Or would they put me straight into the navajo/cheif?

In the past, straight 135 mins would get you into the Chieftain. You'd need some higher time or turbine time or something to go into the 99.

Right now, I doubt you could get into the 99 at all. You could REQUEST a 99 out station base, but I doubt there are any going to external applicants, though KLB would have to provide the real time data on that.

Go fly the Chieftain for a while, it's a fun airplane!

What he said. Even I've never heard of anyone being hired right into the 99 with the bare mins. They may have upgraded into it shortly after chieftan training.
