Ameriflight and RACCA on the pilot shortage

I am not aggressive at all. Just tired of seeing misinformation spread about the hiring process. It is actually quite simple. To get hired it is all about who you know, not what you know. After that, it is military and heavy jet time, after that, jet PIC, after that, jet FO. There are exceptions to every rule, but I am not sitting around scratching my head on how to get hired to a major, I know what I need to do and I am working on it. I am not constantly complaining about a job I had 3 years ago. I am trying to correct misinformation that you are trying to spread about a job YOU had 3 years ago. There isn't a single pilot that went from flight instructing, to AMF, to a top 3 on this planet, from the last 10 years. This "I knew a guy" or "I heard about a guy who knew a guy who went to United" is all BS. You don't know his qualifications, his resume, his networking skills, or the legwork put in to get there. It is a different time now, so spreading coat tail hopes and dreams does nothing for anyone, it didn't get you out of AMF to a major, and it won't get you out of XJT to a major any faster by believing false rumors.
Says the guy that doesn't classify Allegiant as even a mainline carrier and earlier said could see Spirit, Frontier, ect as destinations for AMF. I have been saying that people could get to the majors and earlier you agreed.

I mentioned the legacy guys that I talked to in person that made it from AMF. I also said that the hiring process has changed several times in this thread. You are omit lting a lot of what I have to say just so you can be more "right."

At the United Open House I know for a fact "jet" wasn't mentioned. I asked specifically if it mattered that my TPIC was in metro. They didn't care how I got the time. They only cared that I had the time. They look at the planes you have flown for complexity and such.

Obviously "who you know" is a big factor. That is a factor regardless of your background.

I personally have no idea why you camp out in AMF threads and somehow think you know all about AMF. They have changed quite a bit since you or I were there. If anyone is giving misinformation it is likely you.

Also there is one guy that recently hopped to Virgin America from AMF that you likely know. It is possible and does happen.

I never said Allegiant wasn't a mainline, but nice try though. So you consider Frontier, Spirit and Allegiant to be in the same category as United, Delta, and American? I am not giving any misinformation, there is no factual evidence to support your hair brain theory on the fact that maybe, sorta, kinda, an AMFer can go to SWA. It holds no weight and comes from zero relevance. I tend to believe in what a company can prove, and what I can see. I still know plenty of people at AMF and know the crap they are going through. The only misinformation comes from the magical guesses of people not in the know, you included. Clearly you have taken the same whimsical thinking and applied it to XJT, and that is fine if that is what you need to do to get through it, until you get to where you want to be. However, it holds no weight in reality to tell somebody that is looking at going to a place like a 135 freight outfit, them that they could, in theory, get hired at United when the the proof is just not there. In theory, we could all get hired as astronauts, but lets try to work in realistic terms, and observe where pilots have left these outfits for, and HOW they have been able to leave those jobs to a legacy or a major.

Sure somebody can work hard and leave AMF to Frontier. Is that what we are talking about here? No! We are talking about going to the top 3. I am not saying that Sprit, Frontier, and Allegiant aren't bad places to work, but your argument that because somebody a long time ago went to SWA so everyone can do it to is borderline insanity.

I just can't bring myself to care. The entire industry has made the prospects becoming a pilot so bad for so long, to the point that an entire generation hasn't bothered to learn how to fly, and those that already can are doing other things. They dug this hole, they can dig themselves out, or go bankrupt because there's no bodies for the seats, either way I don't care.

+1

I bitch about pay and qol, idgad about which seat I'm in so long as my qol is ok, it isn't, and my pay is appropriate, it's not

I am, @mshunter! Hell, what's hilarious is when people call me an ass online, I hate to break it to them but my mother lovingly refers to me as an AH because I was the cold, heartless son that would do things like suggest certain family members obtain an education and gainful employment rather than drop in during Thanksgiving dinner and ask to borrow money for ridiculous "ventures".

Dang....typo police and an ass. :)

Just want to clarify one thing, what does "NA" mean?

North American
Not Available
Not Authorized
Not Applicable

Oops...that's a typo. It should be "NH." That's easy.
