American/USAirways-How "one" are they?

Been spending as lot of time on the American Airlines website. I know that
the two airlines "merged" but how "merged" are they? It seems like, although
the parent company, AMR, owns both American and USAirways, they are
still being operated as two separate companies with Phoenix and Charlotte handling
what USAirways did and Ft Worth handling what AA always did. Can anyone
help me understand how these two airlines are operating now? Will they eventually
have their planes all painted the same...will they remove the "USAirways" logos from everywhere on the AA website...will the pilots all train at AA at DFW?
Ahmso Konfyoozed.

Anyone correct me if my data on the mig is inaccurate:

All planes are being painted now. CLT, PHX, and DFW will all be training centers for now. Separate companies but coming together quickly. On April 8th SOC (single operating certificate) will be issued. "American" will be the only callsign. US Airways will cease to exist. Flight ops are essentially merged. Same procedures. A single seniority list is slated to be done by 12/9/15 (that will get pushed back without a doubt) a single FOS (completely combined flight operational system) is slated to be done fall 2016. This is where all pilots will be flying with each other and bidding to other aircraft.

Including......east and west pilots.
At that time the world will end.

The pilot list merger should be... interesting given the history of both groups.

I was recently in a class with a US Airways guy that was furloughed, went to The West, was there for the merger and quit due to the ignorance and stupidity of the East pilots calling him a scab. Too many people that have no idea of what that is using that word.
So this person quit because someone called him a scab? Pretty lame excuse if you ask me.

Where was this? Where did he go?

Prior to 2012 I wouldn't blame anyone for quitting. That place had very little future with rates that were 50% of the current ones approximately. Career co-pilots topped out around $85k. CA's were lucky to break $160k on the largest equipment. It was not a pretty place.

2013 and the MTA brought about a huge change to the employee group especially pilots.

Oh trust me, I realize what the culture was like. For those reasons, I could believe someone quiting. However, to say someone quit because of the "ignorance and stupidity of the East pilots calling him a scab" is a bit weak and childish in my opinion.

Late posting...
"Weak and "childish"? From what I understand people would call his home in the middle of the night or only when his kids were home and say things, damage his vehicle in the parking lot, denial of the jumpseat, constant whisper campaigns amongst his peers, etc etc etc. I've met enough people in my life that find this kind of behavior acceptable in the airline world in the name of solidarity and brotherhood. From what I understand this went on on a weekly basis for almost a year before he through in the towel.

And these are adults?

Damn man, I would lawyer-up, keep copious notes, electronic evidence and stalk-out the perpetrators on social media and IRL. I would be the worse nightmare to the people that were harassing me at work.

But I wouldn't quit.

Funny thing...I work here and I haven't heard anything about this at all other than this board. I have flown with an F/O from the East membership services committee. I also know the professional standards guys. Not a word of this or a resignation. Curious.
