Were you hired as a result of this interview? yes
Total flight time: 515
PIC flight time: 469
PIC TURBINE flight time: 0
Instrument flight time: 92
Total multi engine flight time: 169

That seems pretty low to me. He credits his low time and hiring to "ATP and the CRJ program." Now, Im sure they lower minimums, but that low? I guess it could be true, I also read that if you grad a college aviation program with a 3.0+ GPA then you can be hired with these low minimums too. I mean I am 18 and only need 415 more hours to compete with his TT (I know, I know, it'll take a while). Any opinions?

P.S. Here's proof that college programs can help...good for UND!!

So then are you saying after I graduate from Utah valley state college and if they have an affiliation with some airline, all I have to do is have them send in my resume and I can get an interview, its just that easy...?

Diamnd,
In no way am I saying that. I'm just throwing out evidence against everyone who dislikes collegiate aviation programs and says they are a waste of time.

It's not that they don't do you any good at getting you an airline job. It's that they do you no good if you lose that airline job.

I don't think this has anything to do with college flying programs. This is ATPs CRJ course. If there is a mention of college in it, I would bet it has to do with a degree requirment.

Speaking of losing an airline job..anyone know what type of degree or requirements it takes to become a Boeing sales rep? Or to work with Boeing in any way? I've always thought that could be a fun job.

Specious information.

It depends on when. Hiring qualifications on March 15, 2006 at 2152 MST are going to be a lot different than they are/were when the data was gleaned.

Just like when someone asks how long upgrade time is at an airline. It's guaranteed to be higher or lower depending on when you get there and then it's still subject to change drastically.

Don't be afraid to start a new topic. It's free.

I was referring to the guy from UND who applied with 50 ME and was accepted and has to wait till May for class because that's when he graduates.

Don't want to have my name on these forums too many times. I know I said I was going for more posts and what not...but I don't want to become too famous too fast...and for all the wrong reasons ;)

This is a gouge from a Pinnacle interview. At the beginning of the month Pinnacle reduced the mins for UND graduates to 500 TT and a ME rating, which is ridiculous if you ask me. Of course, a bunch of our instructors and even some students with just over 500 hrs. applied. A total of 23 interviewed and only 9 were hired. Apparently they were a little disappointed with us, but then again they only gave us a two weeks notice that they will be coming up here for interviews.

Good to hear someone on these forums say something positive about Collegiate aviation programs and other programs such as ATP's. Most people Bash them and say they are useless and overpriced. But I do belive to some extent they help with your aviation career.

UND CFI's get those interviews, but apparntly any alumnai can go and get interviewed with those hours. I am thinking of probably getting my CFI's at ATP so it enables me to CFI for both programs and not jsut stuck with UND's.

How could I have forgot the "Lowered Mins" topic when creating my post in the Lav...?

Don't be afraid to ask questions! Just don't get upset if the responses are not what you had in mind. That is when people get testy...

I wouldnt mind teaching aviation in a colleigate program. I dont mean just a flight instructor. I mean a full fledged faculty member. I would need a masters degree and maybe a PhD

True!

I try to make the point that if you try and look at hiring data more than a week old and compare that with your current situation, it's apples and oranges.

But that's not a clear answer, so generally it gets ignored and the skippy's start exclaiming, "Woo hoo! Five more hours to go and I can probably get hired by Air Nambibia! I can't wait!"

(Skippy = Newbie pilot (I just heard the word yesterday!))

As for getting a job with lower mins, there are plenty of ways to do it if your willing to SELL YOUR SOUL MAN :) . Nah, maybe not that dramatic but a FO friends of mine said that when he interviewed with AWAC there were guys with around 300 tt and 50 me being picked up with their CRJ rating from CAE.

I have also talked to a couple of Eagle FOs that did ATPs RJ program and got hired with around 600 tt.

Its not uncommon if you take one of the expensive RJ routes.
