American Eagle MIA Base

Does anyone here know how long it takes to get MIA as a base for a new hire Eagle FO? They still let you pick your base but apparently MIA is at capacity right now and you have to go to SJU initially until you can bid MIA.
 
last I heard, picking your domicile is still in full swing and they are suppose to guarantee you MIA if you want it. Where did you hear otherwise???
 
I interviewed back in Aug and was offered a class date 10/1. I asked for MIA but they said it was currently full and they would assign me SJU and I would have to bid MIA. That's OK and I don't mind too much if it isn't an excessively long time that I have to spend in SJU. I'm thinking if I can get MIA, even as reserve after 8-10 months of employment, I would be OK with that.
