Looks like the pilot company manuals will have to have some changes made...to decrease cabin temperature in order to promote blanket sales. :D
 
We sell the USAirways "Nap Sacks" (what a stupid name) and I've had a few FAs request I keep the temperature down so they can sell more. I made it a point to keep the cabin in the 70s after that.

Sucks, but a sign of the times. With the public now expecting extremely low fares, airlines have to cut corners somehow to stay in business.

Are the FAs on commission or what? If not why the heck would they care?
 
jetBlue has been doing this forever... where was the outrage then?

LCC does it.... great idea!

Legacy does it .... Evil!

The only problem with this statement is that (normally) there is no large price difference between legacies and LCCs/ULCCs that would justify this statement. People want the Legacy treatment at the LCC price. Not gonna happen.

It's not gonna bother me I stopped flying with American, sorry guys, for who is a pilot for them here, but their coach class sucks. Even their business class is not worth the money...

I flew from Rio to Miami on AA last october, the FAs were pretty rude, it's a night flight, during the entire sleep time (windows closed) they never, never came to ask if I wanted anything, not asking for a martini but maybe a glass of water?

I did the flight back on TAM, because AA wanted me to switch my flight to Sao Paulo and then take a connection there (overbooking) I said no way!......On TAM, you can keep the blanket, got a toiletry kit, free headset and free alchool.

If I really need to fly on a us airline I take Delta

x2! Do you at least get to keep the blanket (not that i would even want it) or is this just a rental? And how do they figure $8? These companies just keep shooting themselves in the foot as far a PR goes.
 
You know what? They will make money because they have some of the crappiest, most uncomfortable seats in the air. You kind of need those blankets and pillows to make any 1.5 hour or more trip comfy.
 
As long as people go to the internet and click what they think is the lowest fare... ;)
