America West Is Hiring

If you look in this month's issue of "Air Line Pilot", one of my former students is in his shiny new America West uniform.

And tell me, just where would one find this shiny "Air Line Pilot"??

Lloyd, "Air Line Pilot" is the ALPA house magazine. I don't know whether non-members can get a subscription.

I figured as much.

Doug, would it be a copyright infringment to scan a few pages of one of these magazines and store the PDF's on your server (for your own access, of course), and then accidently link to it?

You can. There is a subscription form somewhere on the ALPA website you can print and send in.

No, this isn't really Doug's former student, just a random shot from a google image search for "airline pilot"--just trying to save el hefé a little effort...he works hard for his money, so ya better treat him right! (gag, I can't believe I even made that reference...

You can be an "Inactive Participant" (IP) for $100/yr.

You can get a subscription for $32/yr or $22 for a student. Back in high school I got one. They send their propaganda to anyone who wants it. Details here, although it's a union rag and pretty boring unless you are a member, and sometimes even if you are!

What the heck do ya get for that $100 "inactive participant" fee???

That dude couldn't be a day over 21...what's his story? "Yeah, this guy named Doug was my CFI and next thing you know, America West wanted me to fly a 757"

Nah, that's not my student in the photo.

I think Ray's pushing 38 now! And he looks a lot more like me rather than Icabod Crane!

You get representation. It's primarily for furloughed pilots.
