I was just wondering what the numbers are for amendments made in the en route environment. So for example, I know that 6 = Fix, 7 = Time, and 10 = Route. What I want to know is what are 1-5, 8 & 9? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about 1, but I think it's the CID

2 - Aircraft ID/Call sign
3 - Aircraft type/equipment suffix
4 - Beacon Code
5 - Speed
6 - Fix
7 - Time
8 - Altitude
9 - Requested Altitude
10 - Route
11 - Remarks

8 = assigned altitude
9 = requested altitude

the difference between the two is 9 is used for aircraft that haven't departed yet. if field 7 is a P time then use 9 for altitude. field 8 is for aircraft already airborne. if field 7 is a D or E time then use field 8.

1 = type of message (FP, SR, RS, AM, HM, etc)
