You can mock Earhart's flying abilities all day - and lots of people do. I might as well - after I've gotten lots of Vega and Electra time.

If the Electra model 10 was anything like the Beechcraft counterpart, it can be a handful at times, especially single pilot.

I mean, I once (slow-speed) groundlooped an Aeronca Chief - I'm not ripping on anyone.

I don't think I would have told anyone that.

I was 15 and taking dual....was going at a fast-walk....had my head up my ass for a moment and Grandpa let the airplane swing around. It did a lovely pirouette. Then he said "Jimmy, you can't have your head up your ass. Not till the planes in the hanger and we're drinking our beer."

I've remembered those words of wisdom.
