AME Vision Test

Prior to a class 2 exam, I passed had an eye exam a few weeks earlier with an optometrist passing with 20/20 with each eye individually as well as both where I wear glasses for far vision. But with the AME's Titmus machine I was failed for missing one letter on one eye where I was issued a class 3. I'm skeptical of the specific AME's machine.

I'm not sure how to proceed. Can I get an optometrist or ophthalmologist to complete the FAA Form 8700-5 to have a AME accept this in place of their own eye exam? Roll the dice with a different AME?
 
<---Not a doctor. Just anecdotal.

When I first got glasses, I had my opthmalogist fill out the FAA form and my AME didn't even bother to test my vision as a result. I know I sometimes struggle with those Titmus machines even with my glasses on.
