Amazon Air?

Well-met in the Ka-tet
Something worth keeping an eye on for those of you interested in working cargo. I will say, though, I know of one dispatch operations manager who worked at Amazon for a while, apparently didn't like it much, and returned to the airline industry a year or two later.

"Ultimately, moving more of its air cargo operations in house would allow Amazon to better control costs and delivery speeds."

This right here. It's all about the Benjamins. Mas whipsaw, por favor.

Without knowing the details I wouldn't assume bringing the work in-house will be instantly cheaper. There's the saying if you want something done right do it yourself, and the patchwork of operators will only get more complicated if Amazon plans to double in size. Long term I think Amazon could see benefits by operating their own airline and relying less on contractors.
