Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the Chicago Air & Water show. We got a call from a friend from STL who was in town, and we were offered the opportunity to view the air show from their friends' corner condo on the 56th floor of the John Hancock building! It was a truly amazing experience to look out and down on an airshow, not up! The view was absolutly spectacular, and when the Blue Angels showed up and one turned and did a close pass right at eye level to our window.

All I can say is "WOW".

This was our view, the crowded beach was the North Avenue Beach, which was show center.

Oh, geez, I don't even want to make a guess at what that condo is worth! More than this 'overpaid pilot' family can afford! To buy anything downtown is expensive, but a corner unit so high up in the Hancock building?! Oiy!

Apparantly the couple who bought it got a fairly good deal, the interior was 'all original', dating to the mid-70's. Complete with ugly cabinets, outdated bathrooms & shag carpeting. They sure did a beautiful job with the re-decorating though! It's gorgeous now.

Watching an airshow from above, gives a whole different persepctives. I saw the Red Arrows at Falmouth on a hill top, while they performed in the bay below - it was awesome!

I was at north ave. beach yesterday. We forgot to bring a camera. It was a great show though. Would not mind going back again.
