I'm 6'4". Am I too tall to be a pilot?

I'm 6'4" and fly the CRJ. I hit my head walking into the plane about once a month. I can't stand up straight in the cabin. It takes some maneuvering to get into the seat, but once i'm in there's plenty of room. The Lav is for emergency use only.

The 5'10' - 6'00", trimmed, shaven, square jawed, steeley eyed, properly dressed and pressed, and in-shape "Image" of an airline pilot is WAAAAAYYY gone. Unfortunately...

Damn the square jaw. Gets me every time! :sarcasm:

I'm 5'2" and I needed a booster behind my back so that I could reach the rudder pedals. Took some getting used to but it wasn't bad.

Probably like my 'I got to fly a 727' story, eh? :)

Wait, haha i would like to know how both of you flew each of those airplanes!

I got a similar story of someone i knew.

He flew a 732 with only PPL with a passenger load for an airline, he wasnt even working for. Take that!

Sorry, no can tell my story. :)

Well, I can tell the sim story. I used to teach new-hire & recurrent flight attendant training at the schoolhouse in DFW. A good buddy of mine was an ATR sim instructor. Over lunch one day the sim was unscheduled, so he offered to let me have a go. It was a bit goofy, the screens didn't quite match up perfectly with the motion, but it was easy enough to get the hang of. It was a blast, and I even managed to land without crashing!
